I am pleased to announce I took it out again after tightening the clamps... No water leaking!

I ran the boat for a few hours, anchored it and swam for a long time and had very minimal water in the bilge. Didn't have to run the pump at all.

The only problems now are the passenger lounge seat needing redone and the boat falls flat on it's face if I try to give it throttle quickly. Even minute adjustments when already going. I do know the propeller for this thing is too big... They chopped the trim tab off to make it fit. I'm maxing out at 3800 rpms and it's supposed to be at 42-4400 at WOT.

I'm trying to figure out what prop I need/what the stock one was or a "performance" upgrade that's a good fit is. I want to be able to pull skiers/boarders and I need off the line grunt to pop them up. Right now I can't do that.

Top speed is 35-37mph right now.

further research, seems like my throttle issues are pointing to the accelerator pump. Carb Rebuild kit has been ordered....

That's more logical based on the information you have given.....starving for fuel.

3 days of work but I got it looking a lot better...
It's not perfect but I did everything with foam pads and DA polisher and cheap compounds not heavy enough for bad gel coat.

A wool rotary would have been amazing lol

Looks awesome! Good to hear it is coming along. I was telling a buddy about this thread last night. His dad is getting a project boat to occupy his time now that he is retired.

Boats seem to be never ending, so definitely a good retirement project. I, unfortunately have another 16+ years till I can retire... and several more deployments between now and then haha.

I got the carb rebuild kit.... I've never rebuilt a carb before so this should be interesting. And of course... no instructions, diagrams etc came with the kit

Local boat pick n pull/repair/new parts warehouse operating out of a connex and trailer had exactly what I needed. Tore it down, rebuilt it. Slapped it on and on dry ground she purrrrsssss like a kitten. I can move the throttle very agressively and it doesn't skip a beat. I'm sure there will need to be some fine tune adjustments in the water, but for now. I'm happy. Taking it out tomorrow for a fishing trip.

It was interesting... Tried new waters... Didn't get any fish. A very nasty storm appeared out of no where... Water went from glass to smashing over the back of the boat. The engine flooded with gas, and I couldn't start it, the wind was so viscious it blew us into the mud near shore, and the boat was stuck. We had to jump out and pull/push the boat several yards before I could idle it at almost full trim with my buddy pulling/steering from in the water. Finally we got it unstuck and motored across the shit water into a cove to wait out the storm. The rain missed us somehow. I need to adjust the idle, it floods sometimes and has issues starting. But at WOT it's pushing 4000 Tom's and zero hesitation. So my issues have flipped... Before it would idle and cruise perfectly but couldn't be romped on and only got like 3800 rpms. Now it'll romp right to 4k, but has idle issues.

Also, the battery died (the alternator belt went out lat trip, I replaced it last night) but apparently it was enough to drain my new deep cycle... So I need a charger now lol. I jacked the AGM from my truck and ran the boat on it.

No fish we're caught. But it was nice to get out with a friend k haven't seen in years.

While no fish were caught, you learned a ton about the boat. And in a few weeks, when all is well with you and the boat, a cool story that should start......it was raining so hard two of each animal was swimming out to the boat..........

To adjust the carb takes a bit of practice if you have never done it before as well as great ear.

Question did you clean the fuel tank and line at anytime during the clean up and out process?

Never cleaned the tank or lines. Just replaced both filters and the screen in the carb. I have no way to get to the tank lol.

    Check the filter
And see if you have particles in th them

Could help explain the idling issues you are having
