    So, I am back from deployment and drug the boat out... Got the solenoid on it and it cranks, but doesn't run.

    swapped over to electronic ignition... discovered the problem ALL along was the rotor (I never actually looked at the damn thing). The metal contact was broken off.

    But now the solenoid is broken again...

    I have started looking at other boats, but am still tossing up fixing this thing... at this point literally all it needs is a solenoid.. I've tried 3 different ones and none fit so I think the starter is out of production and I need to update it.
