Picked this up Saturday after selling the '14 FJ TTUE that I replaced the '16 with. 2015 Double Cab Off Road with 2400 miles. Toyota Certified and in perfect condition. I hauled a Yamaha Wolverine and a Honda TRX250X on a '12 flatbed trailer Monday, up the summit at 75 on cruise, with the back full of gear and 3 passengers, A/C on, at 7200-8800 feet, and it only downshifted to 4th a few times. Way better than the 3.5 in the 3rd gen. Now to mods I guess!2016-09-07 04.58.33.jpg 2016-09-07 04.58.10.jpg

Also we took off the mud guards and factory steps because they are sub par, mounted to the cab and stuck out about 7 inches!

Good find with low miles. I will say im defintiely a fan of the 4.0 liter. These trucks are defintiely work horses for their size.

We've had a 4 liter in our FJ since it was new and never had an issue with anything. My loss for skipping a 2nd gen in the 1st place.

I know a guy locally who just did the same thing. Dealer thought he was crazy but his main reasons for going back to 3rd gen was the 4.0L. He found a low mile one owner Tacoma and has been so much happier these last few weeks.

I had other complaints, but the 3.5L was a big one. I also didn't like the fact that it didn't have a key, and if the battery dies in the fobs, you're not getting your truck started! That seems like a stupid thing. The '16 also had some tech gadgets that I never needed or wanted and I really didn't like the seat bolsters in relationship to my spinal cord. I did like the outside thermometer and the MPG tracker, even though the truck never got better than 13.9 mpg. The NAV & XM in the '15 is similar and I don't have dual climate or heated seats but that was never a selling point for me anyway. I do like the look of the 3rd gen but I didn't bring home the homecoming queen back in high school either.
