My local Tire Factory wanted $1600! for a set mounted and Balanced...

I said no way!!! what a rip off. thats a insane price!

The best price I found online was 4wheelparts at $968.....

$1600 is steep, but $1200 for a set of four mounted and balanced isn't unusual at all.

285s are expensive. Sucks, but it's life. It's a relatively large tire.

    ^Nice! :)
Yeah, I thaught about getting the terra grapplers bc there cheaper, and still a great tire.
But I would rather save a little more and go for the tires I want.

    wat?
this thread is about tires, not wheels.

as for tire prices, duratracs seem overpriced all around, huh? my 315/75/16 mickey thompson baja claws were only $950 out the door when they were new.

go to tirerack.com and price them there... You have to figure in shipping to... get that quote and go to like townfair tire or ntb or something and usually they will price match.. They won't match the price of the tire itself but if you figure in the tire and shipping they usually match that.. good luck

I was just saying it might be worth a try. I'd assume someone with a retail license like that may be willing to do some tires as well.

I'm in Indiana and I'm a Tire Rack wholesale dealer and for instance with us a set of duratracs; mounted, balanced, installed, with new tpms o-rings or new valve stems (whichever you need), tax and everything would run $1149.55. Whippersnapper if you got quoted 1200 for road hazard and alignment thats a hell of a deal and ya better jump on it!

I got my 285 Duratracs for $1,200 installed with a discount. It would have been $1,400 without the discount.

Does anyone know if they will match there online price, at the store?

Also what most places do is mount and balance for cheaper when you buy tires from them or if you carry those tires in they will charge more (at least thats how it is around here)
