This would never be a law here in AZ. There are at least 30 cars in the ghetto near my house that have their wheels sticking out like mario kart. Not trucks, but mexican low riders with eleventeens on them and gold spokes missing the center cap.

Put mud flaps on, leave the mud flaps on, quit being an ass and showering everyone on the road with rocks cause your mudflaps are off.

At least only half of my tire sticks out. With most of the lifted Jeeps around here NONE of the tire is covered

Those may prevent you from getting a ticket but since the OP already has the fix it ticket, I doubt he'd be cleared because they look like they still stick out a little bit past the flaps.

I'd go back to stock rims, get the ticket cleared, then either put the mud flaps back on or find a wider fender flare to prevent future tickets.

That sucks man. Same laws here in BC. Tires can't stick out more than an 1" I think. I know a guy who got pulled over because his tires stuck out more than an inch and they towed it and pounded it untill he bought and installed some bushwackers.

Easy one. If you don't mind paying another fine, take the risk.

Throw the stock tires on mudflaps back on. Go down to the station, get it checked out. Put your other tires back on and leave the mudflaps on. Not sure where you are in sk but even in the biggest city we have a truck can get pretty recognizable and you're just asking for it if you take the flaps off. Just save yourself and some other people some grief, leave the muflaps on and enjoy a nice cold pil!

Was behind a guy like this and actually got a rock in the window with my jeep. I like the stance, but know why they warn people. A ticket the first time is a bit much, but they should make you fix it. In the news a few times a year people get physically assaulted if you mess up the wrong car behind you and refuse to pay for damages.:)

There are hundreds of silly "pretext" laws on the books in Florida that allow a driver to be cited for offenses...

If you got pulled over in FL for something like this I would take it to court immediately. I have yet to see a car that does not have some sort of offense I would be able to cite upon (pointless unless you NEED to make contact with the driver).

OP - If your area is that bent of this law I would find some options immediately. Or else risk being targeted again and again. :(

I don't even want to know the number of windshields my tires have demolished...

And I still have my flaps on, but like that makes a huge difference when you're lifted on 33's or bigger.

I know. I love when they bounce around in the wheel well. With that sound god only knows what damage it would have done if the rears flung it at highway speed.
