Warning: this happened to a Honda Accord, not my Tacoma.

I had my Accord parked at my painter's neighborhood...on the street with everyone else. He hasn't started painting yet, but called me today to tell me I got a ticket for not having a front license plate. When I bought the car, it didn't have mounts...only a bra that didn't have a place to mount a license plate.

Weird. I never knew you could get a ticket while parked. We do have a law here that requires a front license plate, so I guess that's my bad. But gee whiz, my car was parked. I must have taken someone's "spot", they got pissed, and called the "meter maid".

Oh, well, just lost $30 for Tacoma mods. :(

Was it a public parking lot or private property? If it was private property, I'd argue the hell out of that one. I once got stopped by a cop for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign in a parking lot... I asked him if it was a public right-of-way, and he let me go.

That's a great idea, chris!!! Too bad, I don't have free checks.

Maybe I should just mail them a box of 3000 pennies. I just don't think I have enough laying around. Anyone want to donate pennies to the "Help pay Banchi's lame 'no-front-license-plate-while-parked'" ticket?

could get one of those USPS flat rate priority mail boxes...around 8 dollars. Worth it for the trouble they'd have.

It’s a non moving violation, what does it matter if you were moving or not?

Ya, I didn't really know that there was a difference. I don't know a whole lot about moving violations versus non-moving. Hey, ticket is a ticket, just trying to be creative in how I pay it.

From my understanding Moving Violations effect your Driving Points and gets sent to insurance, non moving doesnt.

That's good to know, especially since I'm waiting for a speeding ticket to clear up this year.

Well, I had a really bad toothache once long ago. I went to a dentist who said "I bet that hurts" and said he was booked and couldn't fix it for a couple days. So I went to another dentist and got it fixed that day.

I got a bill from the first dentist for an office exam. What? I called them and told them I was not paying for him to tell me it hurts, I knew that, that is why I was there!

They turned me into a collection agency. So to stop the calls I paid it. I wrote the check to "the fucking dentist".

Got it back from the bank. Someone at his office signed the back "the fucking dentist". But it cleared.

    I never went back there.

Thats how bad the economy is. I would think that is the last ticket they would be giving out. Now I can see if you are cruising down the street and spot it but when your parked just shows what an ass he was!
