On a two-lane road, first time you pass another vehicle will be quite exciting.

Hagerty usually requires restrictions on usage so I doubt you'll drive it much.

No problems at all in you purchasing a unicorn, good for you. I just laugh at how you still opened your thread with a knock on 3rd gen reliability to justify your purchase. You could have easily just put the thread in the other Toyota vehicle forum and posted about your toy there....

But you just had to throw a dig first.....

Yes there are limits with Hagerty, which is part of the reason why it will mostly be in the garage. And you know I'm always throwing digs

Because OP just explained how to fix the myriad of 3rd Gen issues all at once.

Not really.... unless keeping it in the garage and not using it is your idea of Toyota ownership.

Not my idea. Ask the OP.

I work my truck, and it's too tall to fit in the garage.

Shit, nothing. And it started out so promising. OP is probably researching what size tires he can run without rubbing.

I'm with this guy. You don't want to buy a new 3rd gen because if perceived reliability issues, so you buy a 28 year old vehicle, from a country half way around the world, that is going to be a bitch to repair, parts are going to be a nightmare, and you might possibly have issues getting registered (emissions)? This makes no sense. It's a cool truck, but you want to talk about apples and oranges. It's your money, and if you are happy, that's all that matters, but you put it out there.

Not agreeing or disagreeing with any of your points.

As someone who has RHD cars and imported ones, all I will point out is OP lives in FL. FL is the easiest place in the USA to register ANYTHING . Trust me.
