Damn 2 inches shorter and it would work for my needs.

Anyways, good job, just not sure how practical the height is for a midsize truck. The lack of access to the cubbies is concerning as well, I run a lot of my electrical throug the cubbies and this as well, although I think from the install instructions you do not have to install one of the cubbies, or you could leave it out, which may cause one corner to not be secured.

Any thoughts on a low profile version, that sits at the top of the wheel wells.

This is a bit off topic but considering this system for my short bed and looking to have it double as a platform to sleep on diagonally since it gets above the wheel wells and creates more flat surface area... sleeping long ways is impossible for me in the short bed but wonder if anyone has any insight or experience on attempting to cram in a short bed diagonally haha thanks!

In our experience with enough long miles, cold beers, and warm campfires you can sleep nearly anywhere! But true, short beds are not great for sleeping if you are over 5' tall. The diagonal does work but is also somewhat limited unless you sleep in the fetal position (too many beers).

You have a total diagonal length of about 6 1/2' so a fully stretched our 6' human is going to be a tight fit.

Good response haha, I’m thinking of just making a platform on top of the decked system to sleep on once I’ve had to many beers and don’t want to/can’t set up a tent ... looking forward to it, just gotta wait until the end of next month to order!

Just received mine a couple days ago. Note, install was a 2 man job. Don't be thrown off by how easy the full size install seems. There is drilling. I guess I would have known that had I consulted Tacoma World first.

I was a bit disappointed by the dead space between the wheel wells. I guess this allows Decked to fit various truck models. I hope that the convenience factor out weighs the loss of space.

Where to go from here Camper Shell or RTT? I'll save that for another thread. :)

@energygeek - Bummer... that does seem to be quite a lot of wasted space between the wheel wells. :-(
I was really excited about this too!

Is anyone worried about drilling through? I'm worried about rust, 10-20 years from now...
I know it sounds a bit silly but I would like to keep my truck for 20 years. I wonder if there is another way to secure the system....
    Thoughts?

I'll be doing my write-up on the install shortly as I was one of the TW members chosen as a beta tester. I will be sure to address your drilling through the truck concern.

The bed of the Taco is not metal. No need to worry about rust. Unless it's the bolts that you're worried about. See my photos above.
