I had 275/65/18s on my 05, E load because all 18" duratracs are E load, and they weighed 50 lbs each. They rode OK but did suck the mpg down to 17-18. No go on the 08, staying with 265/70/16 C load tires. Not 1200.00 a set either, more like 650. mpg = 20-22 on my 08 2.7 5 spd rc prerunner

Well if you go any higher than C than your increasing your tire rolling weight by about 70 lbs. which is nothing to sneeze at. So expect a mpg loss. As for the Duratracs, just put some air in them. Our cargo trucks at work have load E tires and your can push them all the way to the ground. There's nothing wrong with your tires man stop being paranoid.

I have the E rated duratracs I lost 2mpg and can still get 300 miles out of a tank well before the light comes on.

They are stiff but ride well overall.

I never pushed my tread on mine. Against, I think you're worrying too much about the tires. They're fine. Put them on. lol.
