i think the point he was trying to make is that life is worth way more than fault or either vehicle...

I can't believe the kid wasn't hurt... obviously wasn't on the bike when it hit. But I was expecting a bicycle too. The bed looks straight, the 2 doors and fender wont cause it to be totalled I wouldn't think. But, that rear axle looks bad. That sucks though I loved your truck. It's a unique flexing pic if nothing else...

Thanks for the comments guys! This morning was terrible, I actually cryed a little when I looked outside and didnt see my baby.
To answer your guys's question about who is at fault. The biker is! I pulled out of my driveway and theres a blind spot around that corner. and he wasnt really paying attention. But by the time I could see him, I was or ready half way in my lane. He just panicted and hit his brakes and lost control, then nailed me when I was in my lane. If he didnt nail his brakes he had more then enough room to go by me.

Oh, and yeah, he nailed my rear door. See that dent under my rear window? thats were his helmet hit. He went flying into the ditch. But he is lucky to be alive, thats for sure.
Hope that all makes sense... And now Im just hoping I can get enough out of it, to maybe get me a 2nd gen. :)

Well today, I talked to a buddy of mine. And he's ganna be buying my truck off of me after I strip the parts off that I want to sell. that is if they deside to total my truck. But I would say that it is.

If that kid bounced his head off your truck that hard without wearing a helmet, he would have been killed.. Helmet had to have saved him that time.

    Glad everyone is ok but......
How is it his fault if he was in motion and you pulled into the vehicles path?
Regardless of whether there was a blind spot or even excessive speed involved.
The skid marks in your lane are because he was trying to avoid a collision with you, not because he drifted into your lane. Correct?
It's easy to say what he could of or should of done, looking back on it now.
Have you heard anything from his ins co?

If they determine that the bike was say....5mph over the speed limit.
He might get a ticket for excessive speed but that's not going to close this case. What if he just passed another vehicle prior to the accident?
Have you ever passed a vehicle and stayed within the speed limit posted?
I wish the best for the OP. But being a sport bike rider myself, I look at it from my experiences (35 yrs) and I have been in quite a few near misses exactly like this one and been well with the posted speed limit.

I'm glad your both ok, but this sucks. I'm sorry man, You had a great looking truck. The damage looks pretty extensive. Sheet metal damage on basically the whole left side. I would say they will total it out. Can I have that polished exaust tip for my truck?:D

Ummm, yeah I've passed many times & not exceeded the posted limit due to the fact that the person I'm passing was driving well below the posted limit, I don't look at this as a motorcycle bad/automobile good kinda thing I rode bikes on the street for about 10 years & like you had more than my share of close calls. & let me state for the record that thank God everyone is ok. Now let me play devils advocate for a sec. The measuring of skid marks up to impact speaks volumes as to estimated speed, trajectory, etc; All I'm saying is if these findings show the motorcyclist was in excess (speeding) then the burden of proof for him saying that the OP pulled out in front of him is going to be a tough nut to crack , & why? Because he was speeding & the argument will be that if he had been at or lower than the posted limit that he should've /would've been able to avoid hitting the vehicle ahead, even if only over 5 mph I garauntee you the insurance co. would be all over that, but if skids show that the bike was within limits then again the fault would more than likely be that of the OP, bottom line is one or the others right of way was violated & it'll be up to the police report (which will have a lot of weight in the matter) & the insurance co. to hash it out....
