The reason your 4cyl seems particularly gutless is because you put on much heavier wheels with heavy tires and high rolling resistance.

Your wheels say that you're entering a lowrider custom car show.
Your tires say that you're an offroader.
Your posts say this truck is for putting around town in.

The reason you're not happy is because of that schizophrenic combination. Decide what you want the truck to be - and properly modify it for that task. So if what you want is highway efficiency and better performance, buy lighter wheels with lighter tires and lower rolling resistance. As a general rule, the cheap black wheels with stars and bedazzled shiney dots are very very heavy. 1 pound of rolling weight in a wheel equates to multiple pounds inside the truck. You can easily stand to lose 10lbs per corner by buying quality wheels and smart tires. That's 40lbs of rolling weight. Your acceleration, braking, mpg, etc will all greatly improve.
