ZOMG and everything went great. Truck purchased exactly 11 months ago today, just turned 5k miles on it. Dealer did the 10k service so that I would get my free oil change. Rear axle recall also done. In and out in 86 minutes. Told them I did not want the complimentary car wash, and the service writer put 3 different post-it notes inside the truck that said "no wash" just to ensure the porter didn't run it though their gas station quality car wash. Even had comfy chairs in the waiting room. Perfection.

People exaggerate the incompetence of dealerships- of the millions of oil changes they do, 5 people have bad experiences and make such a big deal..:crapstorm:

haha, I did the same thing! Their "carwash" looks like a Scratch-O-matic 5,000!
I have a buddy that is a dealer tech at another brand vehicle with a very nicely updated modern facility, and their porters F the washes up in no time. So it's only good for a few days after a new wash is installed, or overhauled. I looked at it, and I wouldn't put your riding mower through that thing.

This. Some of the stories on here are unlikely.
I think some people think they are entitled to things the way they want it and thats all.

My dealer actually has competent techs and has video in the service bays.
I asked one day if they actually did the oil filter and they rolled video and showed me.
They told me that there was so much drama nowadays that it pays to have proof.
If you are getting shitty service then go somewhere else.

My friend who is a Toyota Master Tech and has been a Toyota tech at that dealership since 1989 did the work. No need. :)

The funny thing is, I trust the dealership to do an oil change more than I do myself. I’m more likely to fall asleep halfway through or mess something up. Plus it’s free as a part of the deal.

I tried the "don't wash it" and it came back washed but everything else went ok so it was a win in the end I guess.

It would also be nice to have a friend who is a Toyota Master tech or a friend in a service bay. They would pay attention and care for your vehicle, some random stranger? Not so much.

They are pricier for sure. I’ve ran my last two cars through the dealerships for service and to roughly 140k miles. Another to 100k Without any problems.

Each of which ran as good the day I bought it at those mileages.

Just try and find a good one. Hopefully the luck continues

They scratched my new truck the only two times I took it to the dealer for the free service.

My very last free oil change was almost a blood bath. Had the day off prior, spent all day with wash, wax, wheel polish, vacuum, armor all. I even scrubbed windshield and added rain-x. Thought nothing of it next day and rolled into the dealer. Oil change done and I go to leave and the truck is WET..... Morons!

i generally only trust people to work on my stuff if i already know them well enough to know where they live. and they generally know that if they mess it up, i'm not above dumping the broken mess to block their personal driveway.
