I thought some might be interested to see what it consists of. I had a broken leaf on one side but they replaced both sides with a 4 leaf pack. The dealer also towed the vehicle from my house at no cost to me. Here's the sheet they had me sign and a pic of one of the new leaf packs. 90a41c1498de6328b39dbc19e8900072_1ab20bd7aa222a54aced36e4efddd942d7559c4d.jpgd944888f018b02bf9546504728bdd111_1f656dfd14eb619e358b1f00a6f093eaa7ee1a26.jpg

Agreed, luckily it was paid for by Toyota!

Interesting. I wonder why they haven't announced they have a solution...

That's what I said on the phone. They did say they were only replacing them right now on trucks with broken springs. They are different from what I had before (3 leaf) but I'm not sure if they are change from other's with 4 leaf packs.

I was afraid of mine breaking so I replaced mine w/Dakar's since Toyota offered me no solutions. Here's to hoping that they will reimburse me for the money I spent to replace their faulty/dangerous product with something a little less explodey.

The part numbers are different than those currently listed on trdparts4u...

Any noticeable difference in the suspension with the new leafs installed?

It rides firmer but I suppose this is to be expected when going up from a three leaf pack that was on its way out.

I've seen people speculating partial reimbursements at least...but at $650 per side they might totally reimburse people.

Shite! Without the tow bill, it's still over $1500.00. That's insane.

:D No thanks. I'm on the recall train myself if I live long enough for the coveted second letter.

You're better off hoping yours break! That's a more likely and sure way of getting the new packs! Toyota has a case of thumb up you know where with this recall...

They are fairly flat but the back end doesn't sag and the rear is stiffer then before. I haven't loaded the bed up but bouncing up in down yields less exaggerated results from before...

Don't get me wrong, I replaced mine too. And I would be ecstatic if they reimbursed me for my troubles... but I don't believe they ever will.
