I put my Deaver AAL back in today. I have good news and bad news. GOOD news is, they fit like a glove with the new leafs! BAD news is, with the new leaf pack the 3" AAL is way to high! So I guess I'll be ordering a a 2" on Monday.

Also I noticed the new bump stops they installed are like the size of the great pyramids. Maybe the fix they plan on is to make bump stops taller so leafs do not flex so much? LOL!IMAG0730_1.jpg IMAG0710_1.jpg IMAG0754_1.jpg IMAG0719_1.jpg IMAG0718.jpg

I think it looks great! Do you really want to go through that trouble to lose an inch? I don't know about add a leafs but packs generally settle post install, something to consider...

Thank bro! You maybe right, I may be jumping the gun on swapping AAl. I'll give it a week or 2 and see how it goes :)

    Thanks! :)

A little off subject.....took my 05 Taco to the dealer here in Modesto. Got it back at least an inch lower in the rear. After reading this thread, I understand now why its low. But why did they discard my AAL's? Now I gotta go buy another set.....bastards!

same thing here I purchased my truck (6 in pro comp lift) they failed to perform the safety recall and I had to get new leaf pack. They refused to put back the AALs so I actually had them buy me 4 in blocks from pro comp to substitute the AAL. they paid 250 dollars and put it on. my truck has a crappy bro lean so I will have to put the AAL back on soon but for now it is ok.... does anyone know a really good video or thread that can show me how to install a AAL? I want to take care of it but IDK if I can do it by myself . Also anyone in the NW want to purchase brand new 4 inch pro comp blocks? :taco:

I talked myself out of doing it and back into doing it several times before deciding to just do it and I just added AAL's for the 1st time (& ome coils on the front) and it isn't hard to do. especially with the new hardware on your leafs. I got a new frame (with new leafs) 4 weeks ago and have just finished lifting my truck. I used a thread on here from chris 4x4 titled "AAL install (second gen )" as a guide, great write up with pics and tells you what tools are needed.I just followed his instructions step by step until i was done and having new nuts & bolts makes it so easy, I didn't even need new U bolts since mine were new and long enough with the AAL added on, and i didnt have to grind bolt head off so they would fit into hole, had plenty of room with the bolts that came with my AAL's.
If you have the tools and know righty is tighty and lefty is loosey, then you can do it.

Yes, it is part of recall procedures. Had mine done earlier this year. Had the tires rotated and re-balanced. Total cost of the visit $42.00. Our Dealer in Brewer Maine runs a clean fair shop. :)
