Got a 99 4X4 TRD and I'm replacing old shocks with new Bilstein 5125s but I'm a bit confused on which way is up. In most photos photos of the 5125s the rubber boots are up but some are down. The Bilstein decal reads right when the boots are down. Anybody know for sure??

And it doesn't matter which way shocks go (Unless it's a formula 1 car maybe :anonymous: ). People have them either way

With the older, emulsion type shocks, it did matter. The shock body had to be down. With gas charged shocks, like the bilsteins, it doesn't matter. You can run them either way. Personally, I run mine with the shock body up, out of harms way.

^ x2. My dust boots seem to shed/drain water better when oriented this way too.

OME 880's, Wheeler's Offroad 5-Leaf pack. Bilstein 5100's, 1" Daystar shackles, Deck Plate Mod.
I just got 5100's last week, the directions from Bilstein/Wheelers Offroad said to mount the shocks with the canister up, boot down.
