    LOL! i feel you.

im sure the tickets vary state to state but i know out here if you take the class it doesnt count, but we can only take the class once every 3 years. then if you get another one in those 3 years it comes back into play, BUT if we go to court and use prayer for judgement for the first ticket it still doesnt count on insurance and then if you happen to get another you take the class then. prayer for judgement lasts for 5 years i believe:confused:

ether way, i wouldnt hire a lawyer for it youd be burning money.

A buddy did something similar on a freeway running through town at around midnight. He was clocked at 99 in a 65. Lifted Grand Cherokee:rolleyes:. It was no sir, yes sir, I am sorry sir.........he got a ticket, paid it, did traffic school, and considered himself lucky he didn't get clicked up. Honestly, if I was a LEO, and caught someone doing what he did, in the vehicle he was driving, I would take them to jail.

I myself never took it that fast, someone else did and got narc'ed on by my friend who was following in the same car.

That being said, I would just count your blessings and pay the fine and go to traffic school. Five over I don't think would affect your rates too much.

Full rebuild short of machine work, mean green motherfucker! Lime green block, hand-polished valve cover, and stickers! Too broke for real mods right now. Stonewall is my baby, but he's also a work truck.
You got lucky, dude- don't end up like my sister and get your license taken. Johnny Law won't always cut you a break, as my sister found out. She's 23, and hasn't had her license since she was 20. Unfortunately, that hasn't stopped her from driving, let alone driving recklessly fast. She's got either two or three driving with no license charges now, and did jail time for the last one. She's now stuck in a rut she dug, and can't get out. Don't let yourself fall into the same thing. We all know it's fun to drive fast, but there are steep consequences.
Anyways, best of luck. Try the driving school thing- should help with insurance.

I've had mine to 80 out in the middle of nowhere, in a 75MPH zone. That's fast enough, makes me a bit uncomfortable, actually. Big rigs passing me at that speed on I70 going across Utah made me more uncomfortable though.

I am glad you got stopped, took responsibility for it, glad nobody got hurt.

I think honesty and respect go a long ways. Also helps to know the right folks. I got popped in a rental LTZ Malibu doing 90 in a 55 by a sheriffs deputy in my home town when I was back for a visit one night. He asked me how fast I thought I was going and I said 80ish? Then he started asking me who I was when I handed him my out of state license. Then he pulled out his phone and made a call, started asking the person on the line if he knew me and he handed me the phone. I hear " slow the fuck down" followed by laughter. Turns out a buddy from high school was a deputy and vouched for me. Then I had to breath check, which I passed. He asked me why I slowed down, as he "led" me for five miles. I told him my radar popped. He said if I got picked off by a Statie I'd be on my way to jail as they see radars as intent to speed. I think I kept surprising him with my honesty. And when a fellow deputy vouched for me, he knew I wasn't a trouble maker just gettin my moneys worth out of the rental car. I wasn't honestly trying to speed, was just a nice stretch of fresh road and she rolls a little faster than the Taco. He then sent me on my way with a stern warning. I was/am very humbled. It's just another example not to be a dick in life.

You need one of these I don't like to drive with out it. Gotta get a good one like a Valentine, Bell or Escort but will probably cost $200 to $400. Less than a ticket pays for its self on first save. The one in the pic is my favorite but its $500.
