Got pulled for tint, quick question

A week after I got my taco a trooper pulled me over. He took my license and then handed it back and said he better things to do. I was shocked. I ran into him 5 minutes later just cruising down the street. That night I had a fire meeting (volunteer firefighter) and he was in the parking lot. I walked over and asked why he had pulled me over and he said it was for my tint. But he said he got another call so he took off. He also said if he didn't know I had a new truck and wouldn't have pulled me over if he had known. I guess volunteering at the fire department has its benefeits. Its like a get out of jail free card/
