The LEO might have been thinking the same thing.

Or anyone following you as you toss road debris all over their vehicle.

I can understand tint tickets, but I've never understood width tickets. As long as a vehicle fits between the lines, I don't see why tire width is a law. VA sucks bc if you go by the book "any modification is illegal", but almost no cop enforces that as strictly as it's intended to be. But here, your tires can pretty well stick out as far as you want, but you're supposed to have those stupid looking tire lights you attach to your fenders to keep the cops happy. As long as you have those you could have your whole tire sticking out, which would make mud flaps useless so there's another pointless law. Just my two cents.

Only idiots deliberately make their vehicle harder to see in low visibility conditions and at night.

"Look At Me, Look At Me!!!!!" is ironic when they can't see your tinted out arse in the first place.

Do we know what state yet? And yes there are legal limits on how wide a tire can be, and how far it can stick out.

    None. Yet.
The width can be an issue because if it is raining and the tires are sticking out too far past the wheel wells and mud flaps, it can throw up a lot of road spray on those behind you. add that to tinted tail lights and it gets really hard to see you in a hurry.

Good, I hate dicks that put tinted covers over their lights. It's a safety issue, it's sometimes hard enough to see peoples tailights in the rain/fog/snow, and crap without some douche blacking them out.

    ...^^^... I lost a windshield because of overwidth tires on a F-150.

IIRC ... the F-150's insurance paid for it, because he got a ticket and was illegal.

It happened on a toll road and he was stopped at the toll booth for wreckless driving from another vehicle.

Happened a few years ago and my new dash cam at the time was priceless.

I'll go on record with my wager being that its wheel offset and/or spacers that creates the 'tire' problem.

Not gonna be easy to fix like the tint and flaps will be.
