How much is parking out there now a days?
I was doing some work at the solar testing cell a couple years ago and they made parking a big pain in the butt for us construction trash.:D

I got pulled over for no flaps once, but he didn't write me a ticket. He straight up told me it gave him an excuse to pull me over and check me out.

Exactly! License? Registration? Insurance? Impaired? They can't just pull you over, they need a reason and the lack of mud flaps did it.

You are right, and being such, will find no credible argument against your stance.

im not looking for sympathy just simply questioning why certain makes (types) of vehicles require it and some dont

I understand the mud flaps because when a '94 honda civic can kick up a rock and nail the TOP my dad's windshield; that means that your taco can do it also... (We had to get the windshield replaced about a month after)

We designed and built a system that takes corn and turns it into ethanol. The ethanol is then turned into a gel and used as cooking fuel. We sent the system over to a village in Ghana Africa. Myself and 3 other students and one of the professors went over, set it up, and showed them how to run it themselves.

Mud flaps don't stop rocks from being kicked up...

I've gotten tons of chipped windows from cars, trucks, suv's and 18 wheelers.

I used to do window repair so I've seen my fair share of chipped windows. That's why AZ is also a no fault state for glass claims, also in the AZ state law (somewhere I used to know).

And yes Olli, the cop was probably looking for something (fishing) as that's a common technique used by some valley cops to look for drugs and stuff. He probably didn't want to waste his time giving you a ticket he may have to go into court for. I know a couple cops around town and they have told me the same thing, it's a way to be proactive about narcotics and other illegal behaviors rather than being reactive. Plus you have to remember that some of their jobs may be on the line so the more "active" they the less likely they are to be cut. (Last part was just a theory, not factual)

i think people are getting the wrong impression. i am totally ok with getting pulled over and shouldnt have written my original post the way i did. i should have blantantly asked why some trucks/cars require and others dont. im fine with people doing their jobs and being suspiciuousor just...jealous :D

It's cool man, I know your ok with it. But I agree with some that the cop was fishing, and I think that's fine too. I'm glad to see them do something other than wait for stuff to happen.

Exactly, you got pulled over because there was something else about where you were or something you were doing that peaked the cops interest. Giving you a warning covers the cops ass for profiling. Jeeps and Harleys get away with a lot of stuff, but if the cop wants to talk to them they are getting pulled for bumper height or exhaust noise levels just the same.
