WTF. Mine came with a note that says it is legal because you have to put pressure on the blade to open it. Well I won't be carrying this one around, i'll just carry my cheapy when I feel I need a knife on me.

This one had a little snap lock and spring assisted opening. You push down on the latch and the blade popped open. It could have been too long, but I asked him about it and he said it wasn't legal because it was assisted. Maybe there was other issues involved but that kid didn't get his knife back! lol

The knife talk is freaking retarded. Any freaking knife can kill you, regardless if it's a spring assisted switchblade or a tiny Boy Scout knife. The law is the law though I suppose.

Anyways, if I can find my spare flaps I'll let you know! :p

So I will give you guys a little more details. I got pulled over in Fullerton, Ca. That city is known for lots of drunk drivers and so the cops are always pulling people over hoping they'll get them for DUI (really messed up). So he came out of nowhere and drove up my ass and turned on his lights and siren. I pulled over and he was like ok..... I pulled you over for no flaps tinted taillights and he was like dude you were driving fast and its raining. I just responded ok even though I was not speeding. So he said sit tight. 2 other cop cars continued to pull up and they stood there pointing at my truck for 10 mins. I was like getting pissed give me my ticket and let me go is how I felt by this point. 5 cops and 15 minutes later he came back and said you seem like a nice guy I am giving you a fix for your mud flaps. I was like how low do I have to be to not need mud flaps he was like any car with a commercial title that being any truck MUST have mud flaps. Not trying to push my luck I said ok and left with the fix it.

thats funny i had the exact same thing happen to me on a monday night at like 12:30am. i cop pulled me over for having no fronts and too small rears. also just like you said lots of guys around here have f-350s with 40 inch tires and no mud flaps front or back and they never get tickets. our cop trucks dont even have mud flaps which really pisses me off.

Ya it sucks because Trucks need them (pickups included) but SUVs dont.

NC has the best flap/bumper laws in the world...which is to say none. Our only regulation is headlight height from ground.

Now if we could just get rid of this inspection BS...

Cops dont make laws up to fit a situation. If mudflaps are required, and you dont have them, and you get poped....well...Suck it up. Either get some flaps to barrow (keep in mind, you may get nailed again if you take them off), or put some back on and keep them on.
