^^^^this sounds familiar. I was rear ended in my 1st gen by a delivery van...van had to be towed and the Yota had <$4000 damage, basically the bumper was replaced and the tailgate was fixed/repainted. THANK YOU HITCH RECEIVER!!

    Thanks everyone.

Calling insurance tomorrow don't know when they are going to look at it.

If they fix it how do I talk to them far as new bumper like not factory?

Essentially is, once they estimate the damage, you ask them to provide you payment for that estimate. They cut you a check, and their involvement is over. Whether you spend the money on fixing your truck or whatever else is your call.

The better thing to do though, would be to have the body shop put on the aftermarket bumper and include it in the estimate. Aftermarket bumpers are usually less expensive than the OEM ones because of ToMoCo's markup.

The one caveat: If your state has bumper laws that prevent an aftermarket rear bumper being legal or insurable, insurance may refuse it as part of the repair. Consult your insurance agent or local LEOs.

Depends on your carrier's internal protocol. Some insurance companies say frame damage = automatic total.

Most do it by cost of repair v. value of vehicle.

You definitely have frame damage at the rear crumple zones and hitch mount, judging by your pics.

The bed was shifted as well, to the driver side and hit cab.

Gas door popped open I was like wow!!!

Obviously tail gate, bumper, fender flare, hitch reciever, tail lights, think bed might have to be fixed....

Feels like truck sways to the left now not pull but sway does that make sense?

Why couldn't he hit me in the front with that huge bumper heh....

    Ugh

I got rear ended back in Feb. I had to replace the bumper and tailgate and right bed side panel among others and that ran up to like $5000. And it looks like the left bed side is bent outward like mine was so it appears both bed panels are ruined. If I had to guess thats about $10k(without frame damage) in damage with paint and labor. Thankful there is insurance and your okay. merry christmas and roll tide!

    same shit as everyone else
You could take the cash, go full long travel and cut the bed down to size and still have some left over...

And I think the bed comes in 2 peices if i remember correctly and the whole bed is like $3000 without labor. Damn that sucks. If you have to replace to actual bed youre probably totaled sadly.

    Well I'm expecting the worst...

WORST case scenario I'll be getting another Taco 2nd gen maybe a reg cab or extended cab this time....

Prob reg cab I LOVE the way they look except I'll get a bed cover weather proof.

If it gets fixed, deff new bumper!!!!

Hopefully get some dings and dents fixed to

i think its totaled in your state it totals at 75%
so that is about 16k in damage. a quick google search statefarm seams to total with any frame damage
    186a.520 salvage titles

the total estimated or actual cost of parts and labor to rebuild or reconstruct
the vehicle to its preaccident condition and for legal operation on the roads or
