I expected to be doing a 300K Mile update on my 2019 but...

I've said before, I'm old and have had LOTs of vehicles over the years, and while not perfect my Tacoma was a TERRIFIC value and I enjoyed it immensely. It has been solid and dependable and met my needs. I put almost 250K miles on it - many in 4WD and it never gave me ANY trouble.

That being said I wasn't certain if it would continue for another 3+ years without something major. I'm certain Toyota will get it right with the 4th Gen, just not certain they will right out of the gate. So...I decided to trade it in for another 3rd Gen Tacoma.

I will keep it stock - just like my last one, though I always put on new KO2s and usually BD Fog lights - I'll see how these fog/driving light do first. I did put on a Switchback Cover from Diamond Back (I already had it ordered for my old Tacoma).

A few pics of the last night with my old truck in my garage spot, trading it in at the dealer and the new truck in my spot.

It turned out to be a color I LOVED!! I went to the dealership with an arranged deal for a silver one. They came out and asked me if I'd like to save some money (I was writing a check), I forget now how much but I remember it was significant, like 2K or something. they had 3 or 4 Cav Blue ones and only one silver. I took the deal and at first regretted it as I always buy white, gold or silver vehicles for me. I ended up loving the color...now let's see how the orange goes...I look like I'm have a mid life crisis...HAHAHA.

Did toyota ever fix all the paint issues with that cavalry blue color? Lets hope these post covid trucks are just as good.

I never knew anything about the paint issues...I had a few chips but other than that and the swirl marks hahaha (I go through a car wash most every day)...but I'm old and can't see them.

I do hope the new truck is as good as my last...

Good luck with the new truck. Looking at the old one you kept it in great condition. Red/orange can fade but by the looks of your old truck you’ll be fine and keep it new looking.

I had some interest in that cavalry blue color if they couldn't get quicksand when looking at taco's. Dealer steered me away from that, and the super white saying toyota had all sort of problems with those colors.

I had a porsche red toyota pickup, and a tomato red one. My trucks are outside 24/7. After about 5 years both those reds faded bad.

My truck is Inferno. I had to have orange. I don't live in Pleasantville.

That being written, you will never have trouble spotting your vehicle in a parking lot. Others will not have trouble following you. I guess the downside is, if you are trying to be incognito, you're SOL.

The Rigid Industries are as about as good as they come OEM, imo. I added the amber snap on cover and love them.

My wife and I laughed about that - we've been married over 30 years....as for spotting it in a parking lot...good for an old man
