I've used fluid film to help make mud removal easier. However for those who have never used it before be careful with that stuff when you spray it there is a fine mist of it that will coat everything around you that you wouldn't want grease on...windows, clothing, etc. It can be messy stuff if you're not careful also it stinks.

There was once a time, not long ago either, that people here could deal with it. Now with all the Californians and Texans they started using salt brine preemptively in Colorado yesterday (12/20/16) so that not one speck of winter moisture would be found on pavement anywhere. What happened to being able to drive in the snow? This is Colo-f'n-rado people. We get snow in June sometimes. Goodbye relatively rust free trucks, it was nice knowing you.

    Hey guys

New to Tacoma World here, just bought a 2017 in December. Love everything about the truck so far.

I’d like to get someone to professionally undercoat the truck, and I’m willing to travel in a ~300 mile radius from Philly to get it done right (I travel a lot for work, so chances are I can double this up with a work trip).

Anybody have a good shop they can recommend? I did some searching through the forums but couldn't come up with a solid list. Apologies if i overlooked something.

    Thanks for your help!

This is what happens when this city offers free salt here. Turns into a frenzy. Nobody can get enough of it!

I didn't take the picture, news crew did. Salt makes headlines around here.

They just sprayed our roads, I love how people at work are saying you better be here because you have 4x4. And I just go... yeah 4x4 doesn't help you stop

Fluid Film all my vehicles, good stuff, horrible smell, get a tyvek white suit with a hood, some goggles, a spray gun, and get crazy under there.

When I lived around D.C. I just made sure to get the vehicle washed as soon as I could. Outside of one rust bucket Jeep J10, I never had any issues on my trucks or cars

5$ wand wash once a week, we have tons of salt up here. Never had rust on any vehicle.

It's nice to have a garage to park in after the wash though.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I live in Missouri as well -- I would rather see a little "overkill on the salt as no prep at all. As I am sure you are aware -- here in the "show-me state" we have a lot of drivers who are as eager as hell, to "show-u" how stupid they can be on a little snow and ice.
And also the same people that gripe they are doing "too much" would be the first to gripe they "are not doing enough"

I'm here in St. Louis visiting family for a few days. The hint of a storm and the reaction yesterday made me chuckle. Trust me, the moronic level in Colorado isn't any better, there seems to be a general level of winter driving that is approach full on charlie foxtrot everywhere. Seriously, a dusting and everyone loses their shit. You hear MoDOT people saying they are "attacking" the roads and snow, like it's a war to make sure no one has to experience a little bit of snow. God forbid you put down the phone and leave a few minutes early so that you can take your time.

I live in NY, the salt sticks around forever. Takes several days of heavy rain to wash it all away. That's why we only drive our toys May-Sept lol

That seems to be the amount of salt they drop in every intersection around here in NY!
