Got some 265/75r16 Goodyear Authorities today for $156 a tire, I know there are better tires out there but for the money and after reading the reviews I'm pretty happy with how they turned out so far, I'll update as I break them in and let you all know what I think of them long term for those that are interested.

They balanced just fine and only problems are what everyone else has reported some highway noise and very minor rubbing. I plan on putting some Husky mud flaps on to solve the rubbing.

Ive thought about getting a set for the taco, just worried about balance, they were super effective on my tahoe in the sand and alright in light mud even in 2wd my 6400 lb tahoe wouldnt get stuck in sugar sand

I wish I would have bought these instead of the Duratracs. They are much cheaper and there are many good reviews on them. I will be anxious to see how they work out for you. They look great on your truck.

When I purchased my 265/75-16s the Duratracs were only $4 per tire more at Discount. After reading the Rangers Review (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/goodyear-wrangler-authority-the-rangers-review.233752/) I almost got the Authorities instead. Maybe should have but the thing that held me back was Walmart. I would prefer to never spend another single penny there.

A penny spent at Walmart, is a penny donated to Communism.

Id stay clear from the husky mud flaps. They messed up my fender, rubbed the paint off.

Oh, did I get a little carried away with my dislike for WalMart? My apologies. Thanks for the voice of reason there Steelhd. You are indeed a gentleman and a scholar. Out of respect for you and my fellow TW members, I will do a little research and post some links providing evidence of why I posted what I posted. I may have been a little reckless. One of my New Year's resolutions is to be a little more thoughtful when I post. Please patronize me at least temporarily. I'm working on it.

Had them on my Colorado for 2 years. The first week I had them, I was towing my motorcycle in a 5x8 enclosed. I pulled into a grass/dirt parking lot, and the tires sunk down around 4" into the mud. I thought I was screwed with the trailer, but it pulled it out great. The tires were great in snow, and I almost never had to put the truck into 4wd(except when I was intentionally driving like a idiot).

The tires were very reasonably priced, and I would buy a set, if they made a stock size for my Taco.

I thought you were poking at me about my anti-Walmart comment. < shrug >. Apparently not.

I am not a big fan of Walmart either, but I am even less of a fan of their tire techs... I always ask myself, "Do I want these people molesting my $30K truck?".

I'm pretty impressed with mine. The road noise is a bit more than I'd prefer, but I haven't found a tire this aggressive with any less road noise. They didn't take much weight to balance.

They like to pick up rocks, though.
