I'm highly doubting you saw this thread, called your attorney, gave him all the specifics of this scenario including the state in which this happened, he did the appropriate research and provided you an answer in time for you to post this information.

Nope. I actually refuse to speak to cops. If approached, I hand them my license and advise I will not answer any questions.

This advice comes straight from my lawyer as well. Everyone needs to follow this rule.

Now that's actually solid advise, for the most part. Assuming you like to get arrested.

As I said, highly doubtful. I didn't say completely impossible, anything could happen.

I have no dog in this fight and my brother is a LEO, but to answer your question, "Anything you say or do can and will be held against you in a court of law", that's why you keep your mouth shut. In stressful situations, people say stupid shit incriminating themselves even further. Best to keep quiet and exercise your rights.

If it's something as simple as a basic traffic ticket, of course be polite, sign the ticket and away you go. If you're in a situation that's arrest worthy, well it's up to you on how much information you're willing to give up on the spot.

Best to keep quiet if you are absolutely guilty. If you have nothing to hide, no reason not to talk, you'll simply cause unnecessary suspicion. Take a DUI checkpoint for example. If you are hammered and you know it, shut your mouth and do not comply (just don't resist). If you're sober, just say so. Don't be one of those idiots with your license taped to the window.

Well well, I've watched many episodes of Alaskan State Troopers, I've seen them arrest guys for DUI while parked on private property (Gas station , not moving, truck not running) but the keys were in the ignition. Not sure if it'll stick but it's a charge. I had a boss arrested, charged and convicted for DUI while not driving but stopped in a Mall parking lot (private property) not moving but keys in the ignition. There's no by for private property. I agree it's not a "Highway traffic" offence but DUI is DUI and you will be charged if caught. There's no need for a Lawyer.. lol which reminds me, How do you know if a Lawyer is lying? His lips are moving.. Just saying. :)

Back on topic. I drive on the beach in soft sand every summer. The lower you can air down the better traction you get. 12 to 14 psi is the norm in 4 wheel high, not low, and don't make sharp turns.
