    You should get out more.

I don't disagree at all, but OP made the effort to bring to our attention that 1) He's an idiot. 2) Lacking intelligence on his end.

What kind of comments do you expect?

Ex GF is a cop. All of her cop friends are farmers too. They bring you a cold one when they come over to help. Beer and guns are everyday life. Hell we used to be able to legally drink a beer while driving until about 2005. No joke. And of course we've all always been armed.

Air down on real bumpy forest service roads too.

What am I missing? I don't know of much sand in MO unless I missed that part of the map.. Parks? Certain specific areas where sand was brought in? The places I usually go tend to be wooded areas belonging to friends, friends of friends, or family. Never passed any sand on a Missouri highway, seems hard to come by to me.

Its TacomaWorld. I got stuck while driving my Tacoma, that's what was brought to your attention. I went into a situation headstrong without considering what could be of consequence. If me simply stating the obvious, that yes I was dumb to drive into a sand pit next to a lake, is what you conclude to be the overall message, you're off base. It is simply a story of a night I had, in which I made less intelligent decisions.

Next time I post I'll just leave that out for the sake of redundancy.

Sometimes I do shit like that with the intention of getting stuck. As you can infer from my posts above some people would strongly disagree with many of my actions too. Your mini adventure sounds like an average evening drive to me. I'm in your corner.

If you are telling a story that has questionable legality just add the phrase "in Mexico" to the end. Most armchair lawyers do not specialize in international law and will leave you alone.

I'm still trying to figure out why, even though you are married, it is your wife's property.

What's that I hear in the distance? A crack of a whip?

My experience in sand taught me to let air out of the tires till around 15 pounds or so, pull yourself right out it. You'll have to go pretty slow to a gas station to fill em back up but at least you aint stuck no more... ;)

What I am learning from this thread. Two approaches to LEOs.

    1. Fuck you, pig! You'll never take me alive! (that one :tinfoilhat: douchebag who posted)
    2. Dear Tacomaworld, this one time, my friend was at band camp in Mexico and got stuck...

Haha it's been hers and her dads since we met, I don't care about all that tho, if we split all I want is my truck and the dog. I'll get along fine lol

Hmm, I always though it was "To protect and to serve," not "To earn your respect, and you can just ignore us if you feel like it and you think we are yucky."

Now I can see how one might lose respect for an LEO who does outstep the boundaries of the law and good judgment. But I don't think knocking on your door to ask if you will please like them is at the top of their list.

Two errors I picked up instantly when I began reading this story.

    1) "My wife's property". (Aren't you married??)
    2) "I'd been drinking a bit".

You should figure out how to fix number 1 for your own sake. Number two you need to fix because I presume you're a grown up.

    Glad nobody got hurt.

Once you start digging a hole in sand switching to 4WD isn't going to save you. Momentum is key in sand. Don't stop, don't turn suddenly, don't accelerate or brake suddenly. And don't drink and drive.
