^ I think that is a fair price for a quality install with warranty. I paid $1100 because I also had Leather installed at the same time. Mine is an Inalfa 925, pretty much the same thing.

I don't want a sunroof. They cut down on headroom, hence why the 4runner was eliminated. At 6'5" my head would hit.

Also want a sunroof, so have been looking into a solution. The best (least expensive) I've come up with is two smaller sunroofs, one installed on each side of the overhead console above the front seats. Sadly, the options are apparently limited to pop-ups, not sliding. I can live with that, so it may be a pending project.

I'm going with two big ones, one in front one in back, 22x38 pop ups, 270 a piece and you can remove the glass, can't beat that:cool:

Very cool. The glass on the ones I saw remove as well, if I can even find them again. Anyway, I agree with others - don't know why Toyota doesn't offer a sunroof option.

I called today and price for the Inalfa ASI is $1000, guaranteed for life. In looking at pics, it seems the best thing to do is position the sunroof as far forward as possible, otherwise it's pretty much behind your head and you don't get the full enjoyment of it. Hence why some cut the sunglass holder and other's didn't.

Curious to hear of your driving position in proximity to your sunroof (and where they mounted your sunroof), for those of you that have them????

Looks like your's is the Wabasto 700 series? If so, did that one come with a special ribbed bracket like the Inalfa's do?

Plus they're worthless down south...too hot to open 'em in the summer, too noisy to drive with them open when it's cooler. Save your money for a useful mod.

I've always been concerned about the safety of aftermarket sunroofs, how they may greatly impact the structural integrity of the vehicle. I'm not the only one that has that concern:

    http://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=32854
    http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=125346
    http://www.clublexus.com/forums/car-chat/289465-sunroofs-safe-or-unsafe-2.html

I know a few people may say "to hell with that, it's my truck and I don't have an issue with a little thing like safety." But what about the well-being of your passengers, or that of the next owner of your truck? Is there not a moral responsibilty involved? Or, do you want to have your ass sued all to hell?

A similar issue came up concerning trucks, back when tailgates were being replaced with nets (about 25-28 years ago). Manufacturers were horrified by this action by their buyers, as the crash safety /integrity of the structional engineering was impacted by not having a tailgate in the closed position.

Oh, I think such concerns are ill-conceived at best, paranoid at worst. New vehicles have been sold with sunroofs for a great many years. Life goes on. Aftermarket sunroofs have been available for perhaps as long. Again life goes on. Convertables don't even have a metal roof. Once again life goes on. I won't even get into motorcycles and other such vehicles.

Manufacturers, when adding a sunroof, rarely do anything to strengthen the roof of a vehicle. Since the thin sheetmetal on a roof adds very little to the structural strength or integrity of a vehicle, they most often just stamp out, or cut out, a hole in that sheetmetal and drop in a sunroof, similar to the aftermarket products.

As for the safety of sunroofs in general, I've seen no evidence to suggest a significant or extraordinary safety hazard. Also not heard of anyone ever being sued for selling a vehicle with an aftermarket sunroof.
