Glad you're okay, saw this posted on the TW Facebook page too. No one here has said it yet so I will, this picture is actually kind of funny...it makes it look like the truck somehow rear ended itself lol.

Have you gotten the damage assessed yet? Hopefully no frame damage

Lol...that's fair. If my 1st gen were to get destroyed I'd look for a pre 1998 4X4 and keep that till the engine blows up (Or dive it like I want to blow up the engine until it actually blows up) and swap in a different engine like a 4 cylinder turbo diesel. I live in CA so it's gotta be pre 1998.

Otherwise I'd be totally happy with a 2nd gen. I've always been jealous of the second gen access cab's suicide style rear doors. Those things would be perfect for a fridge slide.

    Lol...yeah still a Tacoma.

I drive my truck about 5,000 miles a year. It has 207,000 miles. I'd be super happy if it makes it to 300,000 miles. At my current rate of driving it I'll hit 300k in about 2035. Maybe I'll get a gen 5?

Buy it back and part it out. If you can anyway. Not sure I could. I don't have the space for another truck to just hang out.

Suspension, 33s, some armor... Rust, Gray wire and 2Low, and more. T4r is stock.
If the frame is OK, buy it back and put glass bed sides on it. If the frame is not OK, buy it back anyway... either way looks very fixable to me.

I'd be so stoked if someone rammed my truck and I needed a new bed.
I'd build something like this in it's place.

    Thanks for the page! :D
The bedsides are kind of a PITA lol. There's about 50+ spot welds on each side you'd have to drill out (front, inside, bottom), then weld back on the new one, and there's epoxy in some spots. Plus there's a brace/bracket thing back by that taillight that might have gotten bent on his.

Much easier in this case I think to find a bed and paint it. Lol

Yeah its got damage under the bedside as well. I'm gonna go to the pull a part place when I get back to louisiana and see about finding a used bed on one of the half off weekends. We used the floor system at my old job to pull the bed out enough to get the tailgate to shut and open easily and fit the light in to he legal
