I agree, they look way better once on the truck. I also hate the bead lock trim but it works so well at protection when wheeling. Then they come off for the street.

@blackohio do you work in that shop? or did you just have them made at a shop?

i guess what i am wondering is, is it possible for just any dude to go to a shop like that and have a custom set made? and what is the cost on doing something like that? is it cheaper than buying from a brand?

(im new to all this "modding" and doing aftermarket things to a vehicle)

I work for MHT. This is a piece to our design process. After we design/render/engineer we'll cut a forged set to test design, fit etc. We (rotiform) do alot of designs, and do them pretty fast on the forged side. When the entire machine is functioning optimally we can turn wheels out from design to boxed product in 4 weeks. Now this isnt typically. Wanna say its 6+ weeks normal.

Any could call Rotiform and talk with the guys about doing a forged wheel, show designs they wanted to do and get their own wheel made, however it wouldnt be just "your" wheel, you would just per say have the 1st.

Im not on the sales side, im on the creative so MSRP isnt my area of expertise. But say if you called and wanted to do these wheels I have in the same finish it would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $3100-3600. Pricey but theres alot of hands that touch a forged wheel. From engineers to industrial designers, to lathe operators, cnc machinists, polish / paint prep / weld or assembly / paint or powder.

Some around the shop pics for you guys.
Starts here often with our ID doing sketches / drafts. Internally we review designs and vote.

after engineering it goes to the machine shop.

    IMG_3082.jpg

Then to one of our 2 paint / powdercoat lines. This one being automated.
    IMG_3083.jpg

and if its a rotiform wheel, off to rotiform for inspection and assembly.

    Thats the 10 second tour

Bad Ass! Big fan of the color you chose with the red center cap on the white truck. Do you have a color code for the red center cap? I'm saving up for a set of the TRD beadlock wheels and want to do the ring in red and that color looks perfect.

The red is just candy red over brushed aluminum.

It's not the worst way to earn a living. Unless of course you have impulse control issues and are even thinking about modding your truck.

And that's only a small percentage of it all. There's lathes not pictured. Multiple paint prep / polishing areas / not sure how much square footage of warehouse space either. On average we get 20 containers a day in alone.

Finished wheels look great! Watching the whole thing come together is very cool and thanks for the tour. The things I would do for an A7 on some Rotiforms.

Great work. Is there anyway you can get that inner ring any thicker? Looked great up close but it's not that noticeable once it's on the truck.

Also anyway to convince the team to the r137 in 17"? I always wondered what they would look like mounted on some truck tires...

    Also, nice Golf R!

Could beef it up but it might close the design down too much.

Looks fantastic, well executed. IMO a stepped lip is the most classic wheel design that compliments everything from lifted trucks to sports cars.
