I just had mine done 2006 A.cab 4x4 TRD at 99,000mi with the extended warrenty. I dropped if off at the dealer this morning only to get home to a message saying that the claims dept. wouldn't approve it. I called them back and told them that my truck was sagging at 400-500lbs in the bed and was bottoming out on the freeway. Also that the front end was higher than the rear.... also over a bumpy road there is a "rough/harsh ride" (key words on getting approved)... Overall huge improvement, I didn't realize how weak the original springs were... Glad I got it done

I thought about putting billys on the front of mine set at .85 and having the tsb done, but would have to pay out of pocket since I am out of warranty. Called the dealer today to get a price and when they finally found what I was talking about (even though I had the tsb bulletin number) they told me labor would be 293.00 and parts would be 604.00!!! WTF?!!! Anyone know if you can just get the tsb leaf spring with out an aal?

She gave me a reference number and said the caseworker from the dealership should be calling me soon.

So the case manager from the dealership called and told me they would add the 4th leaf on both sides and replace the shocks all under warranty. He then went on to tell me that it is not advisable because the ride would be horrible. He said that out of the 20 or so tht have been done all but 3 have compained at how rough the ride is after the TSB. Any suggestions? I have an 08 DC, anyone else having rough ride issues?

Do you like the fact that your truck rides like a car/ will you be okay with the fact that it's going to ride like a truck?

My reg cab is much lighter than a Double cab and I think the ride with the TSB is just fine.

Yeah it's pretty much a free lift. Almost all lifts will have the same stiffening effect. If you were planning on getting a lift anyway, I'd go for it.

Yah I tried to get mine done on my 08 but I have over 36k my truck is a
certified used and I also have extended warranty but they said the parts have to fail in order for me to get the update ... Sucks too cause when I do pull a trailer with my quads you can really see the ass end drop .. And I know my trailer and quads combined doesn't exceed the towing capacity

This is probably a dumb question, but I'm gonna ask it anyway. Does the truck have to be under warranty to qualify for this TSB mod? Mine is not under warranty but I can def feel it bottom out when my dirt bike is in the bed of the truck.

You can get it done out of warranty, but you'll have to pay for it. For the price it would be better to replace the stock springs with something aftermarket like Dakars or something.

The service rep just called and told me the TSB is only for 4X4's. Thankfully I had a copy of the TSB and reminded him that the document states 4X4 or Prerunner Tacomas. I have to take to them so they can diagnose the problem before the repairs can be done.

With a full truck...5 adults and nothing in the bed I went over a speed hump and felt it bottom out. Other day pulled a trailer with 5 canoes on it and bottomed out...

Anyone else tried to get the 4 leafs on an '09 or '10? I know the bulletin goes thru '08 but it seems they have not fixed the problem...

Has anyone in VT tried to get it done? Searched and nothing came up in this thread...

    thanks!

I have a case number for my 2010 DC with 2k miles on it...hope they do this cause the folks in the back did not like the bump too much...

Can't believe they don't put 4 leaf packs on tow packaged vehicles to begin with...

My 07 is coming up on 36,000 miles and I'm going to ask my local dealership to fix the rear leaf tsb but am wondering if there is anything I should ask specifically and if there are any other warranty fixes out there besides the rear leaf. I'm not even certain what the TSB stands for. If anyone could enlighten me I would appreciate it. By the way mine is a TRD Sport Access 4 X 4. Thanks everyone!
