    Guys,
If you have a 2005 to 2010 and you have 3 LEAF set the DEALER has no say on rather you get it done,,,Benwehmann,,,call the 800 Toyota Service number and tell them you where refused and ask for arbitration,,,,IT WILL GET FIXED ASAP,,,I would also tell them you want a loaner as they screwed with you,,THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT A LOCAL DEALER SHIP CAN SAY NO TO as long as you our under 36k!! It will make it have a much better off road ride!! from the mts of wva

    Zombie Topic-ing this thread.

I just picked up a super-low mileage 08, and felt like the the rear didn't feel quite right. My motorcycle brain kept thinking too-little pre-load, not enough compression damping, then I stumble across this thread.

I call Toyota, she tells me that yes, there is TSB, but I have to go to my dealer first and that she can't guarantee they'll fix it for me because the warranty expired 10 days ago. I go into my dealer to get a duplicate key made, and mention this to him, showing him a print-out of the T-SB-0305-08 report.

He humm's and haww's. Tells me he has to get a mechanic to look at it, has to talk to his manager, the mechanic tries to tell me the truck has a lift kit (it clearly doesn't). I climb under and show him the rub marks on the bottom of the frame and say "the truck was almost scary to drive with weight in it".

The service guy tells me to have a seat in the waiting room while he looks into it further. 20 minutes later, he comes back, holding a fully updated TSB that clearly listed 05-10 models, but he held it up so quickly I couldn't catch the entire TSB number, (but the last two digits were "10").

He then goes through the same song and dance trying to talk me out of it, and it looked like he was half-reading some script with Toyota letterhead on it. I insisted I wanted it done, they had the parts in stock and he scheduled me for next Tuesday.

Hopefully they'll get it right and put the four-pack springs on it, but I had to say that I'm thrilled to have found this thread! Fantastic information, I'm very hopeful that this will solve the only real issue I've had with the truck (aside from the flimsy tailgate).

There also is a TSB for that flimsy tailgate thing you were complaining about. Search within this Tacomaworld site for the tailgate TSB and you will find tons of information on how to get a "NEW" tailgate. I got mine under the tailgate TSB.

I have the 3 leaf pack but I installed an addaleaf with my lift kit not knowing about this tsb. I haven't put much weight in the bed tho. should I look into trying toget the tsb done? Does it matter with the lift? I have the procomp 3" lift. Thanks in advance.

I had to add and extra leaf to that TSB spring pack to stop the bottoming out. So its 4 puls the helper spring. Now it is much better. I can actually load 4 adults in the cab plus gear and not bottom out.

I am curious if it TSB totally fixes your problem

some pictures here. There is one icture of the completed work where the spring pack is sitting in the dirt.

I ripped out my stock Toyota 4 leaf pack and got Dakars , the Toyota springs suck for hauling any kind of weight for any amount of time .

Just so we are clear -- did you replace a 3 plus the helper or did yours have 4 plus the helper. Where i live there are many hilux and they all have 4 plus the helper leaf so thats the rout i went. cost me $60 for both sides and the ride is a 100% improvement over the TBS springs

The Canadian trucks since the '07's have come with the 4 leaf ( TSB ) pack stock .

    Hey guys,

I just now found out about this. I'm thinking of buying an airstream and that's how I found out about it.

I have an '06 Tacoma with close to 80k. Obviously no warranty, would I qualify for this? How do I find out?

    Thanks.

There is no way you would qualify. Your truck is 6 years old and your way passed the 36k mile marker.

    Yea they suck.....

I got the TSB springs done a month after I got my truck in July 2010 and my drivers side is 1 1/2" lower than the right side with a half tank of gas.

I just happened to measure it on a completly level surface, tires all @32 psi.

I don't usualy carry anything in the bed, but I do usualy fill it when I hit half a tank, maybe I need some Dakars !

bought a used 08. anyway to know if it has the TSB already. ride is actually not that bad. Only felt it bottom out once when I was hauling about 1600 - 1800lbs of topsoil.

Look at your rear leaf springs... 3 leafs - no, 4 leafs - yes.

1600 pounds is "a little" over the payload capability of your truck

Do you think the dealer would still do it to an 09 with 43000?
