Incorrect, they are made (Load E) for heavy duty trucks hauling and towing heavy weight (think 4-5 tacoma's on a trailer). They were by no means designed for a tacoma (or any mid size or half ton for that matter unless the half ton is pushing their towing limits). Going up a size and to a tire 10+ lbs heavier wouldn't shock me if it dropped mpg's by 3-4.

No way it improved your ride unless you went from one Load E tire to another, steering yeah because it is stiffer but it probably just felt different and you like that sort of thing. Something with that stiff of a sidewall needs to be ran at higher psi, combined with the stiffness of the sidewall and it rides rougher especially compared to a p-rated tire or even a LT tire.

They are good for resisting cuts/punctures though.

I didnt say they were made for it, i was saying that, to me, it just felt like they were. When my factory dunlops were on there the truck felt like it wasnt to stable to me. Felt to sway to much and going over bumps, it felt to slip. Driving in the same conditions with my new tires, it doesnt feel that way, it feels more stable and drives better, and i have went through two tanks of gas since they were installed and my mpgs only went down about 1 mpg per gallon. I also do not drive my truck like i drive a racecar either. Its usually driven within the speed limit, so that may be one of the big differences. I know that they are made for heavier trucks, but so are all the other Load E tires that people are running. This is also my opinion about them as well, and everyones is different. You may not feel the same as i do about something, and vise versa, was just stating my review on them.

Good eye, I didn't see it. Spring time is when I'm due for tires. Hopefully it don't get too heavy and stays under 60 lbs.

Looking to get the bfg ko2 for my dclb with 5100 at 1.75 and 5100 in rear. They look good but will the ride suck?

I have the ko2s in 265 70 17 load range C and they weight about 46 pounds each. Honestly a very small hit in mpg, but worth it for the feel and look of the ride.

    Tires look great OP.

My favorite tire...I love not worrying about my tires when the pavement ends.

I love mine over the 265-70 Rugged Trails. Ride improved big time and I only took a 1-1.5 MPG hit using the 1.034 multiplier, still not sure about the accuracy of that method, odometer was at 304 when low gas light came on.

That setup is what I have been looking for. Are those tires 275/70?

I bought 265\75/16 10ply 6 months ago. First had them on my 2002 4 cyl. Manual transmission. Felt a little difference from the bfg rugged trails they did feel heavier but drove a lot smoother. Bought a 2012 swapped the wheels and it felt the same as the stock tires I had. Getting 17mpg combined. I have picked up 2-3 inch nails twice and they haven't penetrated they have only gone in a little and bent, But stayed in. All in all love the tires.

I do not think so. I had the same shocks at 1.75 with Cooper ST Maxx, and it felt good. I think it helps testosterone levels.

In regards to E rated tires on Tacomas. Yes they're probably overkill but a lot of owners do it.

I've decided to switch over from Duratracs to KO2s. My Duratracs were excellent when new but as they wore down, my wet traction handling decreased tremendously.

Oops, I should have been more clear. They only have about 25k miles on them, not sure what the tread depth is. My tail end has gotten loose on more than one occasion when taking a mild curve at less than 35mph.
