Well I live in Southeast Tn, (a few hours away from Chattanooga). So I'll definitely keep an eye out for it. Hope you get your taco back and justice is brought on what a-hole did this.

Sorry to say, but thats probably the best odds.

wow is what ive got to say at all the responses. Thank you everyone for all the kind replies. Ya'll have no clue how much I miss my truck. Yes it would be fine it I got in an accident myself and messed it up myself, but when a low life person who has no respect for other peoples pride and joy messes with something of our own. It hurts it really does. I been just laying around the house for most of the day. Got a few buddies out scouting the area. This town may be small, but there is so much out in the backwoods where it could be. Hell it may be stripped down and sitting somewhere now. But I keep wishing it is just sitting somewhere with an empty tank of gas unharmed and will be recovered very soon.

Wow, that sucks. So how do they start the trucks without the key? I thought it needed the chip inside the key for the computer to allow it to turn on. I guess you could tow it but seems to me that would make a lot of noise.

I don't know what kind of support they offer in your area but you might consider Lo-jack. Mine has the Early Warning fob so that if your truck moves without the fob, Lo Jack is alerted and sends you a contact message. You can add up to 5 contacts (phone, text message, email).

Just a word to the wise let your insurance company know about the set of keys you lost. Tacoma's have map keys and will not start with out a programed key. If you dont tell them about the missing keys you will your work cut out for you convincing them that it was a legitimate theft. You cant just make a copy of the generation 2 keys and start it, you can unlock the door but not start the truck.

They know about the lost/stolen key. Im pretty sure lo-jack isnt around this area, not populated enough :[ And WW_firefighter. I've talked and talked to my neighbors. One of my neighbors is a cop so he knew about it before anyone else did. In a few minutes im going to talk to the police that was on duty lastnight and see if they had seen it anywhere in between that time frame.

So sorry to hear about your truck... I'm an optomist so, hopefully she's just sitting with an empty tank of gas waiting for you to find her...

Stupid scumbags!!! Go get a job and buy your own "wheels". I hate punk, thieves.

The cops found my neighbors car that was stolen about a week later, 5 miles away, with an empty tank of gas... somebody went joyriding and then parked the car when the gas tank got low...

I'm sure you'll get her back...
