My 07 Tacoma was my first "new" car purchase, and the only major issues I've had are with dealership service!
I'm going back to college full-time, so I no longer have all the disposable income to spend on expensive maintenance. I have always done my own basic maintenance. My first and last dealership maintenance was at 15k miles, and man, I will never trust them with my truck again! They forgot to re-connect the battery/alternator plug - so my truck died just before I got home in the rain at night! They also overfilled my engine oil....? These are amateur mistakes that I'm paying good money for, so if somebody's going to screw something up, it's going to be me!
I was very impressed with the knowledge base I found on this site and look forward to using all the "lessons learned" from others.

Welcome! Lots of people who didn't do their own work are now in a position where it makes sense to learn. Poke around, do a search on what you need to get done and you will usually find a detailed write up. Have fun.
