Wondering if anyone has noticed odd damage to their wheels after off roading?
This is one wheel and now I’ve got another with a similar gouge after wheeling this weekend.
Is this common or is there something I need to do differently?

Move down to a 16" or 17" wheel and that will help. If you wheel regularly, your truck's gonna get scratched here and there, even your wheels.

So smaller wheel will allow more sidewall when Aired down? Is that the reason?
I’m okay with the scratches okay, it’s just both times I’ve really been aggressive I end up with them. So wondering if the material also is soft.

Any issues getting new tires mounted with this scratches?

Your center cap says hard alloys, so that can't be the problem :D

Basically yeah. Aluminum wheels are gonna scratch and gouge deeper than steelies will.

Dang that would make me mad too. Especially since that is why we get sliders. I’d take wheel gouges over that any day.

I see them as character marks. Also makes it easier to spot my old truck in the parking lot.

I doubt it. It's a steel wheel so the wheel is still intact. Just gouged the very edge.

I just replaced the steelies with some nice soft alloys. The rocks are really gonna piss me off next time. :)

Sliders aren’t for keeping the trees off the upper part of your doors. If you’re gonna it’s all part of the game.
