How are you liking the oem audio system?
The basic audio in my 4Runner sounds leaps and bounds better than the “upgraded” JBL in the car

Yeah the audio in my tundra was way better too.

It’s a pretty substantial upgrade. Makes this car more like I expected the JBL system to be and then some

install was super easy too. I also put some sound deadening in the back hatch area while I was at it, there’s nothing at all back there. I’ll probably do the doors at some point too.

IMG_5514.jpg This is gonna be quite controversial in a car like this, but I set mine up today for the pooch. First mods for my hunting dog Duchess for all the pheasant trips we’re going to go on this season! I bought the GRC to drive it and use it respectfully:D… I will say this is going to be a killller setup for roadtripping with a Yakima and bike rack on the roof too!! I can’t rave enough about this vehicle, even just day one!

Has anyone seen that a couple of these cars have burned down? I read Toyota has denied any warranty due to owner abuse. Claiming the car registered itself going over 100 mph and Toyota was able to gather that info from the car. Wild.

Awesome. I’ll order one up thanks! It’s funny because these cars are a lot rarer than I thought. It’s really interesting getting information on any of the aftermarket stuff other than from the manufacturers and YouTube guys. Enjoy the drive

The only 2 I’ve seen around here are mine and the one my brother has. He waited 6 months for his, I stumbled into mine in allocation that wasn’t spoken for.

Looks like it will be cleaner than when my dad used to put dead ducks in the trunk of his 74 Firebird.

for me, I actually had to go to a less than desirable community. I was calling around and they happened to have one on the website with no pictures or anything. It turns out it was also an allocation that they put on the showroom floor and I got 2000 under sticker before tax title. They actually had me pull the car out of the showroom because nobody there could drive stick. They only have one porter on payroll that drives stick and his shift started while we were doing the paperwork so he went to go gas up the car. I think I got a pretty good deal but I plan on keeping it for a very long time! I’ll be driving a hooped out lifted second generation Tacoma and a GR Corolla after people have forgotten about those vehicles!…

or it will burn down next week

The hysteria on Reddit is really amusing. 2 fires (<1% of sales) in the engine compartment. They were denied because no cause could be determined. Insurance paid for both cars. That's the way it works. They did talk about the vehicle speed, but it was in reference to the tire ratings. I think that was inexperience on the part of the claims rep. Should have never been put in the letter.

The 3rd was rear ended by a tractor trailer and caught fire. One of the two engine compartment fires, the guy is already discussing his engine mods on the new car.

Toyota currently has production shutdown (and will for months) on Highlander and Lexus built in Indiana, losing millions of dollars due to 1 failed air bag test AFTER the A/B had already passed all required testing before production started. If they thought GRC engine fires were in any way "their fault", they could buy all of them and crush them and it wouldn't be a blip on the balance sheets. That's what's so comical about all the conspiracy theory crap on Reddit.

Drive and enjoy. Unless you grenade the engine and flood the turbo and the rest of the exhaust with hot oil mist, you'll be fine.

I would love to see census data in the USA how many people cannot drive a stick shift... and in 10 years from now it will be even less

I personally can never see owning an enthusiast quick/fast "drivers car" in any form of auto. I recently drove a C8 Vette and was blown away by the motor and trans... but... I would be bored of driving it (or in prison) within days... it is an engineering marvel, but to me it just takes all the fun out of motorsport to have such an assisted effortlessly bonkers fast car. I did drive and almost purchased an Alfa 4C 2 months ago also which was a wild experience with the lack of power steering and the need to be auto because you need to be 2 hands on the wheel all the time...... but honestly I just cannot fathom how anyone that loves to drive can be ok purchasing a performance street car people without the 3rd pedal.

Also one of the younger porters asked me if the GR would beat a SRT... I wanted to ask him "beat it in what?" but I just said "No"

Was wondering if the front end was going to soften up at all…. Found these :facepalm:only took me 211 miles of driving and some forum reading to think to check… pretty cool Gazoo conversational piece though… maybe I’ll put them back in for autocross because the car rode literally like it was on two by fours with zero body roll

Driver, passenger, dog, luggage, and a mountain bike on the roof for 168 miles to my parent’s place… Absolutely blown away by the efficiency to performance ratio. For a 300 hp turbo awd manual car coming off a 2020 STI, these numbers are crazy to me. Very happy so far even with only 411 miles on it!
