I was curious about the Tacoma's safety rating, so I decided to go look into the crash test writeups.

    https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/toyota/tacoma-crew-cab-pickup/2022

    They note:

"the grab handle on the A-pillar protrudes so far into the path of the dummy's head that the rear of the head hit it."

    upload_2022-12-24_12-32-48.jpg

So, if anything, we should be deleting the passenger grab handle, not installing extras.

Have you not seen the amount of accessories people mount to the interior of their Tacoma's?

Grab handle has to least of Tacoma driver's worries.

Dumped the Tacoma, that's all it needed.
Yes. Delete the passenger grab handle, then install Molle panels that haven’t ever been tested in a crash, with accessories on it that barely hold themselves on sitting still.

then a phone mount, iPad mount, CB radio self tapped to the dash, and a canopy that is only held down by a few clamps.

    makes sense.

Mehh …..It’s on the passenger side, not driver’s side.

Plus I have great life insurance policy on my wife.

Just install a Pro Grille. Instantly gives your truck a top safety pick ++

As a fellow psychopath, that was my initial train of thought. But, what is more likely to happen is just partial brain injury and years of paying for a drooling, incoherent vegetable with both urinary and bowel incontinence.

You look at safety ratings when shopping for cars? Why not wear a mouth piece, nomex racing suit, and a crash helmet if safety is such a concern?

That's a product idea for KTJO -- a plain cover for the passenger side "A" pillar.

You don't even need a plain cover... just pull off the existing handle and throw it away. I mean since you're planning to crash the truck anyway . . .

I can't imagine more than 5% of Tacoma owners are derpy enough to have all of that shit, probably less. But instagram probably makes it seem more than it is.

I just don't understand why the hell Toyota can't attach something on the driver's side pillar, even a soft webbing loop handle of some kind. Meh, cheaper for them to make us do it.
