    Does Plasti-Dip count as a mod ?
    Exactly.

I raced a bunch of races to earn enough credits to buy the Gillet Race Car (level limit) and it sucks. And to top it off, you can't sell the fucker . I'm stuck with the car, and a bunch of others.

I still haven't done any races against those level 23 cars. Why do they have to be 4 million + credits ? I've been playing for a solid week and only have 2 mil earned.

Oh and how about the Classic Race Car race ? The cars needed for that one race are over 15 million credits ! WTF ?

This game is starting to get on my nerves...

No argument there. If I were to rate GT5 based only on the racing, I'd give it a 10. That is obviously (and rightly) where the majority of the time and money was spent. If I were to rate the entire game, I'd have to give it a 7 of 10, maybe even as low as a 6.5 of 10.

The races dont pay out enough, considering how expensive the cars are, and too many cars are available only through the used car lot. With over 1,000 cars in the game, and only 6 cars being randomly added to the lot at any one time, there is less than a 1% chance that the car you are looking for will show up. In the higher levels, I've run races 8 or 9 times just to earn enough experience to race in the next series.

My biggest gripe is the Formula Gran Turismo car, not only is it only available from the used car lot, it is required for a level 23 racing series, but you have to be level 24 to buy the stupid thing. And on top of that, since the car is purchased from the used car lot (at 4.8million credits no less), it needs an engine rebuild and the chassis straightened in order to be competitive in the Formula GT series. Both of those cost 500,000 credits. All told, that car costs close to 6 million credits for a racing series that does not even come close to paying out a million credits.

And lets not forget the typo's and wrong descriptions. I like reading the descriptions for each car, and the one for the '54 Corvette is actually the description for the Chevy Silverado SS concept.

The game obviously needs more tuning outside the racing. I can see the meeting in my head where some corporate suit decided to rush GT5 into production so it was available for Christmas. And when one of the game developers complained that it was not ready, the suit blew them off by saying "we'll just publish a patch in a week or so, and it will be all good."

how can they have rushed the game!?!? its been 5 1/2 years since gt4, PLENTY of time to smooth out any details

hate to bring it up again, but in the time between gt4 and gt5, THREE (3) forza games have been released, and another is on its way

i have been a huge fan of gran turismo, ever since the very first one-- gt5 is not only a HUGE let down, but its a slap in the face to long time fans that were hoping for more, and expecting much better

Why was Microsoft able to release 3 Forza games in less time that it took to develop GT5? I dont have an Xbox and I've never played any of the Forza games, so I dont know and dont really care. I'm just some dude that picked up the latest release of my favorite racing series on release day. I loosely followed the development of GT5 online, and I know that there were several delay's in the development of the game. After the last delay, few people expected GT5 to hit the shelves before Christmas 2010.

The fact that there was a 100+Mb update that had to be downloaded and installed on release day, and 2 more huge updates in the last month tells me that the game was released before it was 100%. It seems to me that there was a big push to get the driving mechanics nailed down before it went on sale with the philosophy that the rest of the game could be sorted out later via patches.

Like I said above, the driving experience is amazing. But when you take the game as a whole, it is pretty obvious they spent more time tuning the racing and making the premium cars pretty than they did on the small stuff. Small stuff like the small purses vs. the sky high car prices, or the fact that you have to run a race half a dozen times to earn enough experience to race at the next highest level.

The game is definitely a mixed bag that feels more like a late beta release than a production ready game.

Sounds like we're beating a dead horse here.

This game had high expectations. Pity it fell so short.

Lots of talk on the forums about how unhappy folks are with this game.

I'm strongly resisting the urge to buy an xBox and the Forza series.

Just trucks... You can buy them from the used car dealership. If you need a Taco for the Sport truck race, I can let you borrow my fully modded one. CheapNapalm is my ID. I actually can probably let you have one. I think I have a stock one too.

The trucks that I remember would be the
X-Runner (a little underpowered, but is potentially the best race truck
    F-150 SVT (decent truck)
Ram 1500 Laramie Double Cab (lots of power, but really large)
Silverado SST concept (really good at racing)
SSR (geared way too high to be of any use)

No jeeps in Gran Turismo but here's a list of the cars to see for yourself...

Level 26 A Spec. I'm done. No desire to do the Endurance series.

Now I have almost all the Premium cars I want. I can just have fun in online and arcade mode.

    1. Save the car to garage
    2. Copy your savegame to a USB
    3. Send the car to next in chain
    4. delete savegame
    5. copy savegame from usb
    6. voila?
