I'd like to start doing more, but it's tough as my wife's a pretty light sleeper.

I've only been on nights for just a little over (counts fingers) 5 months, I'm still finding it to be a bit of an adjustment.

1/2 Got a few things to get done early then we'll see if anything breaks:rolleyes:

E-waste? Make sure everything in memory is wiped! Good luck with the new one. By the time you learn it, it will be outdated:annoyed:

    NICE!!!

Oh yeah, once these are out of warranty they get recycled, and the drives get wiped and go to the shredder.

My old one that's going bye-bye is more of an office use laptop, the one I'm getting is a true workstation. As many programs as I run at any given time it'll make my work MUCH easier!

Yeah, one of our day guys is leaving in either Feb. or early Mar., I'd LOVE to have his slot!

There's another night guy with seniority though that might want it, but even that's not TOO bad. He works nights on the other end of the week, so I'd be Sunday through every other Wednesday if he took it, and I got his vacated slot. I'd get a lot more time with my wife and friends, even with that schedule.

    Same here.

The shift differential is generous, and the job is WAY better than my old one, but it's rough being socially isolated like this.

I make a pretty good shift dif. (about $5700/yr) I sleep in the morning and spend the afternoon with my wife. It's the weekends that suck. I work every weekend. Off weekends start Sat. morning. Ever try to get a campsite Sat. morning? On weekends (every other week) are Sat night and Sun night. No OT allowed.

My shift differential is absolutely insane - I don't think anyone would believe it if I posted it.

As far as a weekend goes with the wife, I get a few hours Sunday afternoon and that's about it. I've been trying to take her out in the evenings for dinner and the like when I'm off, so that helps - but it's nothing even close to the amount of time we used to have together.

    It's rough.

So I've certainly earned my pay tonight.

I did an absolutely INCREDIBLE job of making sure my ass held this chair down all shift long. It's a safety issue you know, don't want these damned chairs flying off on their own - it might just hurt someone.

    G'night everybody!

If I ever purchased a new boat it’d be at the boat show with the discounted prices vs “normal” pricing. Never even knew pontoon boats could cost more than a house.
