Working late because the rest of my team (in Beijing) is online during these hours. I still haven't gotten used to these hours but the flexibility during the day is great.

When I worked at Uniroyal the Plant single phased one night. Burned up a bunch of motors, spent the night changing them out. The second time it took out a huge motor up on the roof that needed a crane to lift it out and transport to TX for rebuild. The third time they finally figured out that our transformer was undersized and changed it out a week later, at the city’s expense.

This was a classic. Sometimes I wonder if this entire downtown is held together with duct tape & bailin' wire. Round 3 in a few hrs. Now startin' to feel the burn.

 

2 of 4. Sone day shifters have already called out for the impending snow storm tomorrow. Not supposed to start until 10am

 

I'm waiting for them to start calling off here. Suppose to get freezing rain and snow.

 

Snowing pretty good here. Couldn't see the Capitol dome from the 4th floor windows. I usually have a good view of downtown.

 

Back into the Frey! Feel like a single phase guy in a three phase world.

Lucky so far no call offs yet unless management is not telling us. It's raining pretty hard hopefully they put some salt down.

 

Just reached the midway point of a 14 hour shift- monitoring fish from the East River, NY City- imbibing mass quantities of caffeine and waiting for the snow to arrive.

 

Just got home it was a butt clincher. Ice all over the place slid around some but made it unscathed.

 

Just got home after interview for 1st shift. Not an ideal showing for me. Almost missed it I was told after Tue. Boss claims he told me Wed. So I wasn’t ready, and it was a busy shift. Not sure how it went.
