4x10s the way to go. I rotate days to swings to graves every 4 months. Shift work I usually don’t commute in traffic

When I first started dispatching, we worked 12's, 3 days one week, 4 days the next. I liked that schedule too. Admin said "I don't want my people working 12's..." Well, we are.... on a 5 day work week. LOL

That's what we do - 3-12s, then 4-12s. The 4 days off every other week is pretty nice.

Must have been about 10 years ago, we had a slow down, shift work was stopped. Everyone worked 8 hrs mon-fri, day shift.

    I hated it.

I was conditioned to 12's and used to getting home and doing small, quick chores because I knew I had to be at work in less than 12 hrs.

Working 8's and having all that time in the afternoon to get things done was confusing me. I still would only do small chores. My mind kept thinking I was only 2 shifts away from a weekend. The actual weekend would get here and I would spend all my time doing lengthy chores and not relaxing.

I was so happy we went back to 2-3-2 shift work after 4 months.

Nah, Moms retired in Florida, haven’t seen pops in over 20 years. Wife’s family came over for an opening ceremony/Olympic themed party.
Was fun to have different foods /drink from around the world.
