I'm due back Feb 26th but just heard thru the grapevine that we are doing another layoff.

 

1/3 feels like I never left.

 

Yep, completely unsupervised here. I really get more done that way.

 

I would (and did) take all the time they would give me.

Yes. I have 6 years and I'm starting to get worried.

Guess you’ll cross that bridge when you get to it. Just think, No football player ever completely knows just how he’s gonna celebrate a touch down when/if he gets one.

 

I’m 1/3 of the way there and can’t seem to find something that I like doing in this dept yet...too much time invested to jump ship now though.

2/5 I have to do another 13 years till I'm old enough to retire. Hopefully 8 of those will be mortgage free.

 

Any of y’all have a smart thermostat? Just picked up the Ecobee3 Lite yesterday and had a bitch of a time wiring it. Ended up putting the old thermostat back on for the time being.

 

Just can’t bring myself to complicate something simple. I’ve got one that’s a “learning” T’stat. Picks up on the patterns of turning up/down & remembers it. It still can’t figure out which shift I’m working but then sometimes neither can I.

 

Yeah I got it due to the sensors so I can add it to the baby’s room. Apparently since we have a heat pump with auxiliary and emergency heat the wiring labels are different than conventional.

 

Most of those won’t accommodate those options. They might stage the fan etc. but with a heat pump & aux/Emerg. I have my doubts. Up until I swapped out furnace, my old PC was my T’stat.

 

Yeah looking more into it after I bought it (of course) the Nest supports it all, but ecobee website says i might lose some function and I think I lose emergency heating

 

I wish I could but I have oil fired forced hot water baseboard heat that’s only 2 wire t-stat

 

The other thing to watch is because it’s a heat pump, make sure you program in a suitable delay for the reversing valve. Too little delay & it’s pretty hard on the compressor. You could get a liquid refrig. slug. Not good
