1/2hr. Countdown

 

Hey guys, new to night shift and new to the thread. Been lurking a while, figured I would say hey!

This is my 4th of 4 this week with 2 hours 10 minutes left.

 

Figured I’d pop in since I’ve been awake since 4:30AM with my older son. Was up at 12:30 and 2 with the newborn. Big guy doesn’t quite appreciate sleep yet. I’m off til 4/23 with baby duty. Wife is off til June. Starting to go stir crazy since there’s little I can do around the house with all the snow around.

 

Just checking in. Still chugging up the coast, just got back in cell range. 12 hours to go to nyc.

 

Thankful I have tonight off. It’s been a rough weekend.

 

Sit back, throw on some sandles, lights some candles and try to get a handle on the stress.

Just had a 48 year old here do a gear up landing. DRT. He was the type bothered by small issues.

I'm done with shit bothering me.

 

10 hours and 20 minutes left. Been sitting in the ER waiting on a bed for the last 2 hrs and 45 min. Maybe we’ll get one by tomorrow so we can go back to the station. Lol

 

Got the upmost confidence in you, Murph. No need to try to drum up business. It kinda finds you. Another blast in Austin I just heard.

 

Keep watching our dreams of a bed go away as they pour in the walk in entrance and bring them back here. We’ve been in this 3rd spot for 3.5 hours now. I’d feel better if I could just eat something.

Damn They need to find that guy.

First graveyard shift in two years will see how I fair. Finally have an excuse to post in here.

 

I don’t understand this whole process of you having to wait.

Had one Saturday that had been in the Er for 12 hours. Upset over the time it took and how the stretcher hurt their back. All while I’m thinking if they only knew how that room became available.


Edit: I hate waking up hungry.

 

Really only one way out of a hospital in the middle of the night if you can't walk out on your own!

 

Got hit by hail last night right as it got dark so we’ll see if there’s any damage this afternoon after work. Luckily moved the truck under the carport before it happened

The one pic I took right after it started. All different sized hail and luckily only up to golf ball sized. They had baseball sized hail just north of us

 

Only positive would be a new roof ours is just shy of 20 years old

 

It's been a long 3 nights dealing with St Patrick's day weekend. Thankfully it was quiet tonight so I could do 12 hours of paperwork and be somewhat caught up
