I drove my TJ for 9yrs and never bought anything that wasn't replacing something broken, even then, it stayed stock. I always "day dreamed" about building it Expo style, but knew it was too small and shitty towing to be a good expo rig. This truck will do everything I need out of a weekend camper/kayak hauler and as a DD.

I miss my TJs, had a 00 sport and 05 sport. Tried going back to Jeep later on in an 08 JKU but it was a dog. In hindsight I should’ve kept the 05 but it had the famous opda issue and kept throwing a CEL and wouldn’t pass inspection.

I had(will still have, haven't settled with the insurance yet) an 02 Sahara. I enjoyed it and will always have a soft spot for older Jeeps. I just didn't realize how rough the ride was until I was driving the truck every day

The longer I wait, the harder it is to find a fairly rust free unmolested TJ. I met my wife when I had the lime green one and she always reminisces about it. She’s already approved a “fun car” for when the boys go off to college. By then it’ll be impossible to find anything decent.

That's one good thing about being down in the South. My TJ doesn't have a bit of rust. It never had carpet or any kind of liner in it :D
I've thought about letting the ins just fix it(it's in great mechanical shape) and just keeping it as a "toy". I just have other things I would like to get right now and that money wouldn't have to come out of my "budget" if that makes sense.
