I agree! We need some sanity in cases such as this!

Seriously? You don't have a fishing licence for that state, you went fishing and got checked, and fined for no licence and you are surprised?

    Sorry, but I can't sympathize.

I fish all over the united states. I have to buy a licence to fish in those states. Why should a maritime sailor be different?

I've been sent out of state to go to work. I've gone fishing after work on a few occasions. I have to buy a licence. I don't see a difference just because your job is driving a boat.

Oddly enough, I've found that at times non-resident fishing licences can be cheaper than resident licences in some cases.

I know, it sucked, but it happens.

Flame on. I can take it.:crapstorm:

    Wow!

Just finished that book I mentioned earlier. It was excellent all the way to the end. I do feel a bit guilty that I got paid triple time for 1, 12 hr shift and time and a half for a second.

If you like books about government conspiracies that have a very big ring of truth, then you will like this book very much.

    https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51gSU7nwvwL._SY346_.jpg

It still shows up as free on Amazon, which I have no idea why.

I'm off to write a review, maybe I can get some free Amazon swag for my effort. Its happened before.

Do you have Kindle Unlimited? It shows up as free for me, but requires a subscription to Kindle Unlimited, which I cancelled after the free month that came with my Kindle.

No Kindle Unlimited for me either. I tried it only to find out it was mostly the same books that show up in the "Onehundredfreebooks.com" site. I cancelled it a few days after I found this out.

Mine shows its free with a KU subscription as well, but it also says that I can buy it now for $0.00.

In addition, I found out that I can loan this book out. More often than not, Amazon doesn't allow that for better books. It seemed odd to me.

I can loan it if anyone wants it, I just need an email to send it to. I think I can only loan it to 1 person at a time though.

Yea look I knew I had no leg to stand on when it comes down to, did you have a license, did you have a pole in the water. That’s why I didn’t even try to argue with the guy. But in my mind we’re hardly fishing. We can’t go anywhere but the marine terminals we are already sitting at, not usually major fish hot spots. We don’t have the right gear for the job, usually just somebody’s old pole cobbled together with whatever hook someone had extra at home. And if we ever do catch something it’s going right back in the water. It’s more about wasting a little time and trying to feel like your not at work for an hour of that 14 day period on duty. Since I came to work I have been in 6 or 7 states already. If I was going to get a $30 license in every state it wouldn’t be worth it to me anymore to even pick up a rod. Back on the east coast there’s at least a little professional courtesy amongst those working on the water it seems.

I'm on my 3rd of 4 this week, then I get 4 off.

With the holiday pay for the 4th, plus the 8 hrs of regular OT this paycheck should be pretty decent!
