Good morning guys. Funny saying morning in the morning when I have to work tonight. I'm hoping my four hours of sleep let me nap before work. I got myself another sunburn working outside yesterday and damn am I feeling old!

Rich, enjoy your wheeling if you go and take us some cool pics if you find some.

Rob, I gotta ask. Is the "ACL" issue an issue of having too much stuff to move?

It's a "site" mission. A lot of them are land and takeoff from/to one direction; tailwind in means head wind out and vice versa. Plays with the limitations some. Often terrain plays a role. Usually it's not an issue, but we're getting into construction season so this load has a bunch of lumber adding a lot of weight. No roads to these places, so we fly it all in. Probably not gonna go today anyway; weather is looking like crap.

Primary plane we contract for the sites is a DC-6, which is the commercial C-54. Yes, just like the ones from Berlin airlift days. :D

When the loads get big (excavators and other equipment) we contract L100s (commercial stretched C130). Like a J model 130 without the fancy 5 blade props.

Oh yea, I'm familiar with those types. I'm not a big fan of tail winds unless I'm going someplace. :))

Got some tree work going on in da hood?

And it begins, night 1 of 4 and it's not looking like a good 4. I already miss mowing my yard at this point.

I'll be leaving for work in about 2 hrs. Having dinner with Mitch and Meghen (youngest son and his girlfriend). Homemade pizza FTW!

    I'm jelly of the pizza.

Funny I talked to my rug rat on the phone all the way to work (almost an hour). He's married and they have a baby. He isn't happy with his money situation but, I did my best to encourage him by letting him know it won't get any better for a long time and that by that time, the way things are going, his net pay will be zero after taxes anyway. Did I show good parenting? :D

Ah Friday. I hate when they offer overtime in the middle of my 3 day weekend. I put work on reject this past weekend which isn't always easy...I hate turning down the cash.

I agree Joe.... Overtime on a Sat night ruins the whole weekend.

    Right???

I really do hate it for him because he's had such a hard way to go for about 40% of his life with chemo, radiation and stem cell transplant plus being having to drop out of school (did get his GED) and being uprooted from his buddies to go to St. Jude. But, he's been a hard head since he got well. Not wanting to go to school. I had him hooked up and had prepaid for his school and bought all his books in advance and about two weeks before classes started he decided he didn't want to go (at least I got almost all of the money back). On top of that, I could have got him hooked up with a decent job in the career field. I really wonder if part of the reason he didn't want to go is because he didn't want to do the same thing I did/do.

That sucks having to work on Easter.
But again a lot of the holidays are just "days" to me anymore. Since my family is so spread out between in, pa, and here. We get together when we can and its usually not exactly on the holiday. Heck, I havnt seen my brother, sis in law or the kids in a few yrs.

2:30am and all is well in the plant tonight. They're calling for rain on my one day off tomorrow. Looks like it might be beers and chasing the wife around the bedroom time.
