Is it worth it once January and February roll around though? I like cold, but not below freezing for days on end

I'm the wrong one to ask. You can put on clothing and not be bothered but the cold if you're the outdoors type. Ill play pickup hockey in the teens, and ice drink (ice fish), snowmobile, hike, ski, ect all winter long.

I mean we have Bob house cities up our ways where we spend the weekend living on the ice.

Lol and freezing for days... Remeber last year ? What was it. 4-5 weeks of single digits highs? Haha. Not typical for here though.

 That’s a ton of snow. I can be out in it as long as I’m duck hunting. It’s also different I guess since homes here aren’t built for that winter so it seems worse when it gets below 20-25. All we’ve got is the old trusty heat pump and no wood stove/fireplace/or gas heating

A year or so up here and you get acclimated real quick.

Come the end of February if we get a 50* day you'll see people in flip flops and shorts comfortably. Yet nights are hitting 60* now and we will be in jeans a hoodies

I’ve always wanted to move where there’s actual seasons and summer doesn’t make you sweat the moment you walk outside at midnight. Only problem is convincing the other half

@FastEddy59 your state is effed though. You guys could warm up 60* in the dead of Winter, and still be under freezing. Or whatever that works out to be in C*....

Yeah, something to be said about seasons. Spring lasts about a week now before we get into uncomfortably hot temps. Fall can be 'bout the same sometimes. I like Winter especially when it's not life threatening to go outside.

Do a fall or winter vacation up North. Tons of stuff to do up here. If you've never ski or snowboard before you could learn in no time. Or even do a snowmobile tour through the mountains. In my opinion though the fall foliage is the best though.

Next to ice drinking. I do love my ice fishing

That's closer to Alberta where the Chinook winds carry warmer temps. Unfortunately here, it gets colder than Mars.

Haha yeah it was an old comedian that refferenced that. Saying that at -30*f you can warm up 60* and still only be at 30*f , under freezing.

I did a few vacations as a kid in Colorado and New Mexico so I love skiing/snowboarding. I’d like to find a state on the east coast or even Canada to be able to ski or see them in the fall
