That Aug is sweet. I'm not a big polymer fan either. I don't have anything against them, just more comfortable with wood in a long gun. I'm with you on the rounds though; I went a little budget conscience though; my current pairing are both Ruger, a Mini-14 stainless and wood 1981 model with a P345 sidearm. I'm comfortable with them and shoot them relatively well with consistent accuracy.

I need to get in some range time. Hmmm maybe I'll see what my youngest son has planned for tomorrow afternoon.

 

I used to be a big downer on 9mm but then i shot a guy in the head through the A piller of his car. made me a believer...at least more confident in the round. My dept. only has the 9 option for handguns. we are issued sig 226r's. And trust me after qualifying with some of the yahoo's i would not trust them with 45's. too much gun for some of our peep's. sad. We are also issued 12ga and ar's. I get an M4 for K9

Not sure what the big debate is.
.380, .357 sig, 9mm, .45, 10mm,

It's all about shot placement. I just prefer .45 cause it's a huge slow moving bullit.

I prefer the .50 or the 40mikemike if we are gonna go there haha! People who dont like guns have never shot the Ma-duece or the Mark19

 

I agree I like the .45 big hole lotsa blood. love .223 major destruction all that good shit. Shot placement is good advice though. finding that front sight and causing damage is a great thing

For sure, my buddy and I just ran a range down here last week for the civilians. Awesome time.

 

i wasn't looking to own a handgun until I shot a friends P345. It was the first time I had been comfortable and consistently accurate with a handgun. I qualified on 9mm Berettas every year for the Air Force but they never gave us enough training time to get really proficient . I was never really comfortable probably because I grew up on long guns not pistols.

Sometimes it's finding what feels right for you; it's not the same for everyone.

 

You should have at least one of each. too many situations exist where you cant use a rifle or it is not effective and vise versa with the pistol. I coached the M9 and as shitty a pistol as it was those things could go through just about anything without any major damage and still fire haha!
