This one is a dual recieve, drop protected ( I can vouch for that), waterproof, does DMR and analog FM. So you can either use a hot spot or program a repeater for DMR use. But I also have 4 states worth of analog repeaters on here too.

Here's the big difference between this one and others. DMR was developed for commerical use. As in your boss sets up the channels and you just hit buttons.

This is one of the only ones you don't have to go through rediculous steps in the menu to program or just type in analog frequencies. You can just pound it in right up front and you're all set. Super easy to use. It was designed for Ham use and normal people.

I'm too far away and too broke to consider those right now. If, and I mean BIG "If", I have to lift. I will go with OME coils, Dakar(or the like) leafs, Icon delta joint tubular UCA's.

Plus, I want to get all the other shit to see how much it drops the suspension. I don't want to have to buy suspension multiple times.

DMR and echolink are cool. Fusion, D-star. Just matters who uses what in your area.

But it seems like things are trending towards DMR. I just like that radio because it's semi indestructible and easy to use.

 

...I'll have to do my springs when my sliders and bumpers come in. Not looking forward to it

If it will really drop it that much, I may have to throw a spacer lift on for cheap. I don't want to buy expensive suspension and have to redo it.

 

We're basically using DMR where I work now. We have the Supura radios which are the upper end of the Hytera's. They work great when you hit the repeater. They suck the second you walk inside. It's cool with the text message feature and they are GPS enabled. Full keypad on the mobile and HT's. I'll grab a pic next time I'm working and show you.

I'll have to check with my friend because I know there's some radios he doesn't;t want on his repeater before making a decision on one. I know the big 3 are all fine and the Hytera's since it's a Hytera DMR repeater linked into the Brandmeister network.

Can you not use DTMF on that radio? I was just looking at something about that but don't know how old the info is.

 

I'm talking about the stock suspension.

You'll be fine with OME and 886 springs. 885's may do it.

They'll be adding dtmf with a firmware update soon. But that should really only be an issue with Echolink or other Analog IRLP.

The HD-1 should be fine with the network. Normally it's the Baofeng and the oddball md-380s that have timing issues and can mess up the repeaters but stepping on other people's transmission. The HD-1 has no issues like that.

Well, I'm going to have to at least use the Baofeng a little before replacing it. Haha

Mobile will probably be first in. I'll need to recover from that before getting another HT.
