We are starting to get some wind. I think we’ll get the most of it Saturday. Rescues already on the coast. Lots without power.

 

Yeah . Hopefully this storm dies down a bit. Supposed to be up our way by Thursday. Which kinda sucks because we had those towns explode and they're going to be all hands on deck working all week.

 

Nah some of us are just starting and don’t get off till tomorrow morning.

I work out in the country so it’s not like it is in the city. 3 calls is a busy day for us. Our calls just take longer because we’re 25 miles from the closest hospital.

 

Gotcha, closest hospital to us is next town over in Milford. Next severe trauma center is st Vincent’s or UMass Worcester 20min +/- lights and sirens. 3-5min by Helo

Edit: had my FIL been taken to Umass first vs Milford then X-ed he may still be with us today...

 

I see people all the time come in somewhere that they should have gone to another hospital. Like when a Gunshot comes into the cardiac hospital. It’s well known it’s a cardiac hospital, why the hell people will drive up with that idk. Those people freak out with shit like that because they don’t deal with it. See them bring cardiac pt’s To the trauma center. Course they can handle that too at that hospital. Sometimes I’ll tell someone we need to go to the other hospital but they’ll insist on going to the other one. We have to take them there unless we get diverted from the hospital.

 

He was 53, healthy, practically a saint. cardiac arrest; taken to the closest hospital first. Prob too late by time of the transfer then 2 weeks in ICU. but I like to think there was a chance.

everything happens for a reason... my kids will grow up in the house that he built with his own hands and hopefully be able to raise their kids here.
